I hardly see any review for this model, already in sony.com.my listed out this model at suggested price
most of the sound feature are comparable to the few sets placed above, but i saw few additional 'features' from this toy that actually caught my eyes

A) it's blu-ray player ready - the above models are all with DVD and although they should be able to change with bluray player in future, but this is readily plug in with a blu ray player, which in another words, futureproof (also with dts-ES supported)

B) M.P.C.M (Multi Channel Linear PCM Digital-In) which is sort of new hearing for me

C) 1000W (RMS) power output, 143W x 5 plus 285W subwoofer, 3 ohms [SIZE=5]
it does mean POWERFUL!!!            usual 1000W are with 6ohm or 8 ohm with in the real sense, they are not 1000W in real, but is this for real??

I can't find any decent review on this one, whether because it's just come out....
but any more word can add up comment to this?

Added on October 3, 2008, 9:25 ami  posted a summary from the review of the BEST HDMI PLAYER thread, and it seems that Philips won a bit over the USB feature, still collecting views, but one thing is, will the compatible issue happen if link up with the HTF2300

Will it have definite advantage if i combine HTF2300 + NS708 compare to HTF2300 + Philips 5998?
Because Philips 5998 won over the USB thingy, which can play DIVX from USB drive..wink.gif

Though I think NS708 won slightly over with the DVDA supported? correct me if i'm wrong
Both plays any DVD though, after i checking out another HDMI player threads...they both got pretty good comments
