Hey.
I bought my first DSi a few weeks ago and I'm pretty happy with it, except for one minor detail. Is it common for the DSi to have a small gap on the left side of the touch screen? It's in between the facial bezel and the touch screen. It's not such a big deal, but it does allow for a small amount of back light to emit through crack which can become distracting during game play. I'm just wondering if this is normal, or should I return this unit in an attempt to get one with a better fitting touch screen?

My DSi has no such thing. I think it would be best if you go ahead and request for a change.

DSi XL releasing March 28 for $190 in North America

At its Media Summit today, Nintendo just announced the North American release date for its new, enormous DSi, the DSi XL: March 28. On that day, you'll be able to walk into a store and pick up a DS that makes your hands (and Cammie Dunaway's head) look super tiny for $189.99; a $20 premium over the regular-sized DSi.

Hopefully, we'll hear about some new DS games to play on the vast expanses of DSi XL screen space today as the Nintendo Media Summit continues.

It depends on what type of games you like.
For me it's:
-Ace Attorney Investigations:Miles Edgeworth
-Pokemon Soul Silver or Platinum
-Hotel Dusk
-Professor Layton
-GTA china town wars..
and not forgetting Zelda.

Hey guys, I've been warned by the DSi seller NOT to update the system... I did not. But I'm so tempted to enter the DSi Shop to download the Facebook app. I've tried googling for some answers and I found that it might work if I removed my flashcard (I'm using R4i), and then update the system. It actually worked for a user but she's using AceKard 2i.

I also did not update my R4i card thingy with what-what version cuz I'm a complete noob in that. But I would be grateful if someone could shed a light on that for me...

Has anyone ever tried updating the system but the flashcard still works after that?

I'm seriously thinking of owning a DSi XL because of the XLness of it lolx
I currently own a NDSL already, and wouldn't mind the switch butttt I've been hearing good/bad reviews about it. Does anybody have like a comparison list of NDSi vs NDSi XL ??? Like how evilhomura89 did ??

I'm very sure Phoenix_Cypher_K1 has some very useful info to share right???
Please help me with this predicament coz I'm already falling in love with the XL and I don't want to regret knowing it can't do certain things the NDSL can. I'm also pretty sure the XL can do wayyy newer things as well so this is why I really need some good reviews before paying like Rm 900.

Not to say bored la, but I really love the XL version. I've always preferred big screens. Besides my biggest problem is I don't have any NDS kaki's to play with. I'm sooooo freaking outdated with NDS scene. I really really enjoy Pokemon but playing alone is so boring and I don't even know if I'm doing the right thing in the game. Honestly, I bought the NDSL just to play Nintendo licenced games that aren't available on my PSP, so I'm actually very lost when it comes to other things besides playing the game i.e. Friend Codes and so on.

when i first bought my NDSi..i carelessly updated its version to 1.4U, i used DSTTi back then..so its useless..then i ask around..they said that only R4i Gold have the upgraded firmware..and i bought it..but then it doesnt work too unfortunately..
but then i found an upgraded firmware for DSTTi..and it works great..i can play my NDSi now normally..and inside the album there's additional icon showing FB..

some says DSTTi is old and wutever..but personally i found it works just fine..

im not sure i answered ur Q or not..but in conclusion..my DSTTi works on upgraded version of NDSi

Ok seen every getting "big head" around here about the dsishop and DSi firmware + the homebrew card (Acekard, r4i and others)... i try to simplified it.. (So much typing error--> using dsi opera browser


DSishop ONLY allowed 1.4U/J (U=USA, J=Japan or others depend on the console region) to log in and shop n download DSiware. if your Dsi previously 1.2 will upgrade to 1.4 when you accessing the Dsishop.

older homebrew card does not support the 1.4U firmware for example acekard 2i previously does not support the 1.4U dsi firmware. it only show the acekard logo on the dsi Menu. after update the acekard 2i's firmware, it became fully functional in 1.4U which now it showed the Danny phantom logo on the Dsi menu. Acekard 2i is one of the homebrew card that allowed firmware update (Save money, no need to buy another card). (Me have no idea on DSSTi, cause using acekard 2i on my 1.4U ndsi and downloaded Lotz of Dsiware).

So, the later homebrew card (approximately after december 2009, based on some fellas in GB@temp) will fully support the 1.4U NDSi. but if you the holder of an old card or get it from a bad dealer... make sure you update the card firmware to lastest firmware that support 1.4U ( the Firmware mention is not the same as the loader which updated quite frequently). other wise or some of the card required another NDSL or NDSi with firmware lower than 1.4U to help to FLASH or BOOT the new firmware. (acekard 2i= about 1 minute)


If you are a DSISHOP newbie, it will ask you to link to your Nintendo club if you got one but if not ,i personally recommended you to register one (Europe nintendo club can convert their coin/star to free wii point). based on time and package of NDSI you purchased. varies in offer are availables. for example, my NDSi. the NDSi get free 1000 point (USD10) if log in the DSishop before 30 october 2009. if not, you got 0 point = nothing you can do in the Dsishop except download the dsi browser and flipnote (Photo Dojo offer just ended, so no more free photo dojo). If you got $$ and want some point for dsiware you can tried the "brazil hack" (Search in the LYN) cause i dont see any ways to get a nintendo point card in malaysia.

nintendo is not supporting the update anymore i think.
currently is 1.4U.
well maybe we wait until 3DS comes out.
