If 66@28 no power then mebbe the string tension to high for your racket or yourself. Personally, i feel high tension works wif higher u and head heavy rackets. Also 28 on 66 will definitely not last.

if can handle high tension, light and slight head heavy racket can do wonders too

all down to player preference and technique, dun u think so? I dun have a fast enough swing, so i need the racket to do more me, hence the higher weight and head heavyness.

well said. then u also need a flexible shaft
*
hmmm...kinda find flexy shaft hard to control the shuttle or mebbe i am just used to stiff shafts.

question: most articles i've read indicates that low tension = more power/easier playability. However, recently I tried to restring to 24lbs from my usual 27lbs then the result was horrendous. Drops where all over the place, smashes end up in the net, clears needed extra effort and worst of all, defensive clears ends up at half court. Decided to cut the strings after one game and re-string back to 27lbs. I'm abit puzzled as to the opposite effect of my experience against what i've read and what most ppl experienced. Could it be that the strings flexed too much at low tension causing loss of power instead of the bounce effect?

your area only got 1 shop provide racket string service?
how come no power? you are state player level, right?? pro player use bg66 at 28+ tension or bg65 at 30+ tension one, I saw them can smash gau gau with it. . .

state player do age as well mar. pro cant use high tension forever. older age = less strenght n less flexibility and hence the need for lower tension. hehe. tongue.gif

if you doubt with the theory low tension = more power, then forgot about it, just use the tension that you feel suit you most, if now using 27lbs, next time maybe can try 28lbs or 29lbs (ensure your racket can take it  biggrin.gif ), if you feel no power or string bed is too stiff, then mean your level is not there yet. . .  last time I also test it one by one, at first is noob want high tension, 25lbs then 26lbs. . .  now back to 24lbs - 25 lbs only. . .  biggrin.gif

yeah i agree. But i just tested the theory out of curiosity and the notion of saving my injured shoulder. but end up wasting a RM30 bucks and a perfectly good AP62 string sad.gif

sigh, lotsa wrong techniques and bad habits and lack of a coach have taken a toll over the years. hence i have to stress to all those just picking up badminton, get your technique and footwork right first before playing with string tension and investing in high end rackets!!!

Hmm could it be that ur reaction speed is so fast that u c everything is slow motion tongue.gif. Haha. I recently switched to apacs n i feel they are really good. U might wanna check out the racket specs of the nano n compare it with ur current to c if suits u. Without testing out the racket feel, technical comparison is ur next best bet.
