QUOTE(nicotine @ Nov 3 2009, 02:29 AM)
hi guys, noob here.. i decided to get a second racket and i had narrow down my option to these two racket yonex nanospeed 800 and armortec 70MG.

I don't really know which to choose between these two.. any members who owns those mention racket kind enuff to feedback some experience  ?

Currently i had a yonex muscle power 9 string with 22lbs BG65 but the problem is... i just dont feel right when whacking the shuttle it feels like no power like that. sweat.gif

hmm my playing style I like to whack hard tongue.gif

thanks ! smile.gif

QUOTE(yanhui95 @ Nov 3 2009, 10:59 AM)
probably because yr tension abit low, i used to put at 22 also
now i use  bg66 24lbs already quite nice to smash, but very fast putus...
*
High string tension doesn't really mean can produce powerful smash indeed smile.gif The higher your string tension the more accurate you have to hit the shuttle at the sweet spot in order to produce the power you desire. nicotine I suggest you change to BG66 with 22lbs, play it for at least 2 weeks. If you feel it's nice just after you re-string, you can try higher tension next time. If after couple of weeks you feel better, you should re-string for lower tension next time. And then raise the string tension gradually. Because we need accuracy as well, badminton not all about smashing. tongue.gif

Higher tension without sufficient arm power cannot produce heavy smash though, probably will weaker than certain people who using 20lbs to smash...smile.gif

You're correct! smile.gif

But for me, it's best describe that smashing is linking to all body movement in order to create the strong one. Foot, knee, waist, shoulder, hitting point, wrist, and off-racket hand. smile.gif

I used to smash using 19lbs...Can produce strong one but the sound really not nice to hear, very rough. If change to higher tension, what I feel is just merely the different of the sound...The power, hgm...I don't know, I feel the same. >_<

The Intermediate grading is too wide covered..."Aware of players position", this has to be players who have rich experience or well-trained all the way along his badminton life...I'd grade that as High Intermediate though...

And so for Advance level, if someone made it to national squad that should be professional level already sweat.gif

This should be the appropriate site to grade yourself:
http://www.badminton-network.com/BADMINTON-SKILL-RATING.html

Wondering what's the full mark, I got 6.4...sweat.gif

"aware of players position" is also due to mutual understanding between u and ur partner..err this statement is for doubles
it should include the position of opponent player(s) too i guess

cool site btw rclxms.gif
*
Aware of partner in double is easy, aware of opponent is very very tactical. For some experienced players I have met, they said they don't really see where the players are but can sense them. I can sense when I am trying to do net shot...But I can't when I am smashing. Too difficult for me. Still long way to learn...

Another thing that varies would be grading between countries. Intermediates in our country would be professionals in certain badminton-undeveloped countries. Heck, it even varies in sessions I went haha. Heard from forummers that ur rilly good chris, and 6.4 mark is kinda high I think, full mark would be 7.9 ? (Dah macam windows 7 experience index score). Thanks for the site btw  smile.gif
Ye la tu retard god, more like bulked up version of taufik.
U have quite an experience playing quite some times already. You should be advance/intermediate level. I actually just pick up badminton, never play serious before until recent. I should grade myself slightly above beginner. Still have many clumsy footworks and awkward movements on court.
Hahaha jgn cucuk saya with colok ! Well I already mentioned my level above, I think la based on the Badminton Skills Rating, still have many No's, my level should be around there.

p/s: U guys on the other hand is trapping beginner to bully ka haha grading as retards god  vmad.gif
*
Man I have so many "No"s as well...If just play play then okay if talk about play real, I lose gao gao la. People use mind can fool me all the way to hell. >_<

very pu suang

Play with uncle got tactic...Footwork doesn't play much role...Just enhance your drop shot, and your lift. Lift very important, train until lift very high and at the base line, can win uncle jor, no need smash, smash can't kill them. sweat.gif

QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ Apr 8 2010, 08:42 PM)
so I just string it at max tension? For Yonex Nanospeed 500.
would it make any difference to string at 27lbs if max is 28lbs?
*
String at your suit...Why need to go for maximum if that's not your cup of tea? High tension tends to make lesser reflection power, higher vibration gives very high impact and if you cannot handle it well will injure your wrist and forearm. Furthermore higher tension such as 27+, has smaller sweet spot, means you have to make shot very accurate, relatively have higher wrist control so that every shot you can make it at the sweet spot.

I don't have this kind of magic to control a high tension racket, I'd rather go for 20lbs, for much explosive smash that'd be much satisfy me most of the time. cool2.gif

well, this is actually a b'day gift for my dad. I don't know what is his fav tension and its meant to be a surprise. I guess I'll let him string it on his own.
*
Do you play badminton as well? If you do you can pretend to ask him. My friend was doing the same thing with me last time, wanted to buy racquet but wanted to keep it secretly, so she got info from me throughout my chatting with his bf. It's normally to know each other's string tension in badminton.

If you do not play badminton, why don't make a story? Example: You read a megazine says that LCW string 32lbs, and ask about his. tongue.gif

BG 66 is the easiest string to handle...If you can't feel it, you will definitely have worse feeling on others. Try to decrease the tension, if you aim for smash and better feeling...The harder the string tension, the more difficult you "feel" the string...

QUOTE(netzsch @ May 23 2010, 10:47 AM)
i just bought a KX 737AL racket..after play with this racket..it feel like the frame a litle bit heavy than my current racket..Gosen graphlite..and my hand and shoulder hurt..is it the racket too heavy..or i m not familiar wit it yet?
*
I have totally different opinion regarding your arm sore. Despite of wrong technique, racquet's shaft stiffness does major part to absorb your energy and do the repulsion. If you use a racquet that its shaft stiffness overcome your arm power, you will have major energy reflected back to your arm in every hit. And that'd be the major cause for your arm sore. So normally if you're good player, always have accurate shot (at the racquet sweet spot), then you can go for stiff shaft racquet. Otherwise you're advised to use more flexible shaft racquet, enhance your hitting accuracy and power, and then only go for stiff shaft racquet.

wah .. i'm not dared to challenge .. but want to play with skillful player to improve my games.

the smily expression is cute lah.

honestly, 27lb is considered a high tension to me oso. i believe the user of such a high tension is either a power-play player, or a strong wristy player.

good to play with this sort of player to improve my game.

There's someone in Chiller's session has this ability...But that was way back to 2 years ago, about 2 months ago met him in game, backhand smash BOOM BOOM no more. bye.gif

QUOTE(chiller @ Dec 9 2010, 04:15 AM)
boom boom sound gotta seek chrisling (21 lbs) & ziggy (28 lbs) experience. Only them can create such effects, as far as I recall.

Or eat Roti Bomb b4 game, then try on court later.

Bro no more boomb boomb liao la, old liao lo, haha~ Do you sell the Roti Bomb, I want to order tongue.gif
