Continuation from Badminton Equipment v1

Guys, anyone can advise me which to choose? Carbonex 21, Ti-5 or Armortec 250? I'm not a power smasher. I prefer playing accurate and placing shots. Mostly playing doubles with friends. Which is most suitable for me among those three?

Are your smashes hard?If it is,i'd recommend you for BG68Ti.Else,BG66 is fine.

i always thought carbonex is for those hard smasher...

my opinion would be to go for Ti-10...i'm currently using it...good for drop and placing shots...not very good for smashing...

You can give Finnex Infinity 9000 a try. I'm not a powerful smasher too but this racket helps me with its flexible shaft. It sells at RM280 with string, grip and a 2-compartment bag.

You terbalik la. Carbonex for all round casual player. Ti-10 for heavy smashers. Noticed the titanium meshes embedded at the side of the frame?

go to Boon Hua stationery shop at Tmn Eng Ann and shop around. For Rm150, i dun think you can get a good racket from Yonex, try other brand, but before that, do some research inside LYN forum b4 you decide.

actually there are many factors towards this issue

no.1 Poor stringer
no.2 Ur Grommet spoil di - is it an old racket?
no.3 you slice the shuttle alot
no.4 you smash alot / not on the sweet spot
no.5 your tension is too high
no.6 your string is too thin - Yonex BG 66 0.66MM thinnest

i think thats all i can think about

Added on October 10, 2008, 4:57 pmoh ya...can u guys recommend a good type of string?

Yonex is a good brand but nowadays, low end Yonex racquets are manufactured in China making them easily having problems or not durable compared like a few years back when all of their racquets were from Japan.
If you want a decent racquet but having a low budget,i'll recommend you to get those above RM100 like the Muscle power or Carbonex series.
Be aware of the tension of Yonex racquets because Yonex racquets dont really like high tensions compared to other brands.

That's because from small you keep on seeing the brand in competitons,International tournaments and sorts.
I explained why above.
One thing which still remain excellent are Yonex strings. They seem to have more varieties for different kinds of playing styles.
Im an avid fan of Yonex strings so i kinda know quite a lot about them.
Do fire away your strings questions if in doubt. smile.gif

NS9K is head light balance, Type X is stiffer than Type S, both are still head light. Due to X is stiffer, probably you cant swing the head faster so could feel the head heavier, actually it aint so.

Eh guys.. I am currently looking for a new racket. I used to play more aggressively and more to the offensive single play. But after resting for a while, I realise that I play more deceptive and close-net play in double play now. I am using a Pro-Ace offensive racket and I feel that I need to get myself a more suitable defensive racket that match my current play. What do you guys recommend?

all of you sound so proz and experience.
i feel shy as i got 0 knowledge with badminton.
i wonder what the use of tension of the string?
if not mistaken i am using Yonex BG66 or 65 with tension of 25-26 like that.
what effect actually it gives?

ns9000x has stiffer shalf than arcsaber 10. For smashing wise, shuttlecock tends to fly faster since the shalf is stiffer. Although ns9000x is stated to be head light but i feel it is actually slight head heavy. Arcsaber 10 is evenly balanced(maybe slightlyyy headheavy).

try for rsl diamond only rm around 300 or other model because rsl ftw its a very good brand
if yonex armotec 700,900 or ti-10
but no for fleet!!!!i gt all brand of racket but no fleet really suck fleet especially their shoes(wear haven 1 weeks change sweat.gif )

but for racket i recommend rsl because its cheap and affordable if compare to yonex + its a very nice racket
if Equipment yonex...quality and their feature for equipment its good

if shoes i recommend Yonex, ascics or mizuno

to secure the knee better, firm up the muscle around it. Also, sending signal to the brain the knee should be more careful.

AT700 & LTD are head heavy, good for arm powered to smash, defence would be lacked off.

ARC10 is overall, it would perform however to be executed. Easier to use than AT700 & LTD.

titanium material normally are quite light, good for fast play....
but the technique you said just now still need consideration on your skill itself la....
to me.... playing need to relax your arm and body to enable you to get a nice shot.... although smashing also can relaxing.... haha

apacs lethal 50 is a very good racket The shaft is DOuble shaft, and the head is very stong, the head and shaft can be taken up to a maximum of 40 tons, The racket is rather heavy on the head, correct me if im wrong, I Only got the chance to use the racket awhile, *im selling it too* pm me. But overall IT IS A VERY GOOD racket. it is a medium weight racket, The shaft is rather stiff and the head is Not very much heavier, but when it comes to smashing IT performs very well

im using apacs nano9000 speed. to me its a nice frame. pretty responsive for defend and attacking. singles be very nice to play with. just make sure the strings are tension at least 24 25 then u will be burning the shuttle on court. Hehehe. Strings always i prefer Yonex above others. Others lose tension very fast. Yonex bg66 or bg65. If want budget bg9 lor.

Ching ! Question !

Any racket that can match the power of Armotec 700 or 700 Limited ? Im thinking of getting one, but the price is pulling me down tho. So looking for those good in smashing as I do lotsa offensive e.g jumping smash. My current ProAce seems abit light and sometimes if I miss the shuttle during jumping smash it'd hurt my wrist or whole arm.

Comments are welcome tho ! Thanks in advance !

Would like to ask the sifus here, have anyone tried Yonex Muscle Power Limited? Anyone who is using it currently and can give a review about it? Can't seem to find much info about this racket. sad.gif Seems like a MP99 but does it play like a MP99? Considering this racket as a spare or maybe main racket.

I m looking for kakis to play as well but I m just a noob. Locations somewhere near PJ State would be preferable!

Thank you!

MP Ltd is even balance, stiff shaft.

MP99 is slightly head heavy, extra stiff shaft.

Looks like it, plays like it, but doesnt feels like it.

Thank you for the feedbacks

I wonder this 2 rackets when you guys commented on it, how's the grip? You know some ppl wrap it thick, some wrap it thin and it does make some difference on the balance of the racket.

The only racket comes close to the power of At700 is at900p and arcsaber 10. At700 LTD is very expensive. But normal at700 should be cheaper at Pertama Complexs

yea true, The grip feeling is entirely up to you, When you go to the shop tell them to let you feel how thick you want it before they finish putting the grip. some ppl like the grip to be tacky some ppl like cloth grip *which stinks after awhile*

Thanks, but the lowest I can get at Pertama from Mr Sam is RM468 for Armortec 700. So after a few thoughts, I dont think I can afford it, I narrowed down my options to Apacs AMP95 and VH1800, the thing is AMP95 is currently out of stock.

I think of buying a new racket RM150 to RM200, include strings and bags will b prefered.
not thinking of purchase a Yonex, as read in most forum, Yonex low end racket is not cheap and is not good in price and performance.
I would like to buy others brand, not mind a China brand like Victor.
Any brand is recommended. Racket middle light is enough, for balance play since my skill in defensive and attacking also not good.
I will go Pertama to find a racket during xmas holiday

Erm.... do you see whats your fren's playing style?? if not i don't recommend you buy racquet for him as racquet are quite important choice to a player.... different playing style suit different racquet....
if i were you.... maybe you can get him a good badminton bag which is anti thermal... so it is safe to put inside car to accept sunlight heat.
or else... maybe you can get a gift voucher for him la... i meant you talk to the shop which your fren always go.... buy a gift voucher about RM100, then give him like angpau lo.... ask him to choose his own badminton gear... is that more pratical??

Guys and girls, take a look at my few hours old AVH1800 -

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/883611

Found it doesnt really suit my liking after testing out heavier head and stiffer racket. Overall this Visible Hollow 1800 is really good racket, the VH shaft acts as anti vibration is working like charm - perhaps that makes it less stiff. Anyway, do drop me a pm aite.

Of course prices in Pertama can be bargained. Just the matter of how you bargain.

Again pricing of Apacs I m not sure in Pertama, but definitely you can try to haggle, bargain, discuss etc etc or you can check out some eager seller here.

There's no point buying a racket RM500+ racket when you can't fully utilize it. I bought a RM200+ racket I can't use it, my stupidity for that. I am only able to use a free old racket given to me by my uncle long time ago. sad.gif

Buy 1 free 1 or 50% off? Sounds not bad.

Furious (which model) or Edge Saber? Elaborate more on your play style and level then it would be easier for ppl in here to give you their comments.

Stupid large bag ? Why is that ? So you only need the racket cover ? Why didnt you ask for it ? Im sure Michael has tonnes of it. And eventually the stupid large bag that I got is a Yonex so its not stupid afterall.

Armortec 300 is a bit heavy ...
When smashing still can said power... not superpower.

I suggest you go to the shop and hold the racket yourself..
Cause playing style should be lots of different.

I am looking for a good but not exp racket that suitable for beginner like me. My budget is RM100 max with string.

Anyone can recommend 1 for me?

I'm working at Pudu area and called up Times Square to ask if any shops have racket re-string service. They said there's one, Sporting Sole at 4th Floor. Went there, they said no, they don't do it. But I can see they sell rackets. It's shocking that in a mall as big as Times Square, there isn't even one shop which will re-string your racket.

Just need to get this out of my system. Kthxbye.

for those looking to buy new racket, can have a look at the Wilson K-Factor series, price dropped to RM200+-, previously 300+-, i recently bought a K-Blaze at 215, with string. like it very much.

yonex racket good 1 is expensive. if budget around 150-200's yonex racket, better off getting other brand. coz part of the racket cost goes to yonex's advertisement budget. you need to pay for the brand itself too!

it's better to stick to 25lbs. play with it first and see whether the tension suits you.

when you are generating more power, you can go higher tension the next time you string your racket.

hi there do u guys or gals know how to read the balance point describe in the racket specs? eg. 280mm where is this measurement from? if the head is heavy, normally what is the Balance Point and vice versa?
some rackets are meant for single and double, what are the differences between them and the points that we need to take into consideration?

Hey.. I'm a badminton newbie..
I need a new racquet... I plan to redeem it with points from either BonusLink or Cosway...
The cosway offer Prince Sierra 2 racquet with a 1 compartment bag...
Bonuslink offer a Prince Graphite racquet(Model not stated in the book) with a full cover...

Which is better?

hi guys, would like to ask some questions here..i've played badminton for quite a few years now so i'm still an amatuer..i own a Pro Ace ABS - Power 1000 raquet, been using it since i started playing, but i'm facing some problems with it here..i'm fairly good in defensive but my offense is kinda weak, can say not much threat to good players(clashed the raquet quite a number of times when started playing, but not sure whether if this is the problem)..but when i used my fren's at700 i can see the big improvement in my smashing power, been thinking of getting that raquet but the price at 500++is a little overbudget for me, so i was wondering if the at250 is also a good substitute for it? would be really thankful to get advice from all..

Added on May 20, 2009, 10:19 pmAnyone ever tried of Fleet rackets, bag and shoes before?

i wanted to get 2yonex racket a court shoe and bags but its way to overbudget.

So i was thinking of getting Fleet Winner 90 racket, and the Ft-555 also The BS-900 shoes and Either the Fl-41 bag or the Fl-26 triple tour bag so i can fit my other 2 yonex rackets for backup

or recommend rackets that is better than Fleet and has almost the same price

also i actually dont even know the price of the stuff i stated please help me find out.

My Budget: about Rm 350-450 for the racket and bag (my dad will pay for the shoes as long as it is between Rm 0~RM120)

I'm mostly more to Hard Stroke and Offensive Shots (eg.Smash) and also Like to hit The Shuttle hard.

Im still an amateur so no pro rackets please..

Also I need help to choose string, string tension and Shaft Stiffness..

but for the string i thing maybe i can use yonex Bg-68 or Bg-88

Have you ever tried these KX shuttlecocks-Black Ace,Silver Ace and Gold Ace..They said the gold ace is the best shuttlecock in the world.I tried the Silver ace and it lasted for about 6 games..you can get the Silver for Rm53...While the black is Rm48 but im not sure about the Gold..
but if you want cheap shuttle which you only can use once..get a SouthSea..2 dozen for Rm11... but its not good for hard hitter as it is foam based not cork..

How about RSL 3-zip big bag with back strap ? It has cushioning foam but without thermal insulation foam, it is not recommended to put in the car under sunlight/hot weather. Price would be Rm40-50.

hi everybody..... i need a suggestion on new racket. Im planning to buy new 1. Im beginner -> intermediate player. Always play double and hard hitting 1.

FYI, this is going the 1st time im buy a racket, coz b4 this im using my father racket, the ancient & old ver Carbonex & a cheap Yonex for beginer (heavy 1). So, i didnt know anything about the new racket, light head, heavy head, and so on....

So, my budget is around RM200, and i found a list from our LYN member that could sell many choice of racket for that amount. Im planning to buy in this week.

So, can anybody suggest me a new racket?

Yonex, go for Armotec Series (made in taiwan sub Rm200), Muscle Power, Cab.
Apacs Fleet Carlton Protech Impact Pro Ace, plenty to choose.

Best is borrow from friend & try on court, see which type (head heavy, even balanced, head light) racket suits you most.

I neva try these racket b4, i would say they towards even balance to head light. Measure the length whether is 664 or 674mm where 674mm consider as "Long".

Nearest is Puchong Bandar Puteri (Giant Hypermarket) near MBA badminton hall. Shop is AJ Mart. Or Klang Centerpoint shopping mall , there's a Yonex shop at 1st flr.

nanospeed 500 user here, it is a quite well balanced racket, not too light not heavy also, consider quite good for beginner -> intermediate player like me also, as a RM150++ racket, I give it 75-80 marks over 100. . . for your budget, you got choice for yonex NC tuff 8 / NC tuff 9 / Armortec 30 / Armortec 50 / Armortec 150 also. . .

Hi,

THere's this new shuttlecock from PRINCE brand. They have 3 categories of shuttles; Classic Silver, Classic Gold and another one (cant remember the name).

Review:

Classic Silver is as good as RSL No 1; Price difference RM46.00(PRINCE), RM50.00(RSL)
Classic Gold is as good as Protech Platinum; Price difference RM59.00(PRINCE), RM60++(PROTECH)
Another category, sorry I cant rember coz i tot its quite expensive and not worth the value so i didnt pay much attention to this. tongue.gif

You can try out this new product. Tried & tested by former BAM players icon_idea.gif

Hi,

Just my personal opinion, frm experience & my so-many-racquets to compare frm. nod.gif

If u want to know whether the head is heavy or not, u look at the flex as guide. If flex is high/stiff, meaning the head is heavy. If the flex is medium meaning its weight is balanced. Soft flex usually means the head is light.

hmm.gif Actually the better way to determine a good racquet is a racquet that can compliment your skill & physical status rather than using certain racquet for either single player or doubles player. There's no restriction to it.

e.g. If u have really strong arms flex.gif u ought to use a heavy racquet such as Amortec 700 (used formerly by Lin Dan) or Amortec 900Power (Chong Wei). As for the doubles players, racquets such Ti10 which have a stiff shaft(flex) are used because in a doubles game, fast & attacking play is the usual strategy to win.

Hope it helps.. icon_idea.gif

the bold part is misleading doh.gif
flex is the stiffness of the shaft not the head

hard hitter should use flexible as the shaft will bend insted of crack'n'break while soft style should take stiff or medium as they have a very lowerr chance to crack'n'break the shaft.

oh, of cos.. its true that flex refers to the shaft stiffness but what i'm implying is that the stiffness of the racquet will affect your hand feel whether the head is heavy or not. blink.gif

meni meni misleading statement =( ns9000x and ns9900 is extra stiff but i don think the head will be heavu >.<.. as for hard hitter, choosing a stiff racquet will be better as the energy will be fully transfered to the racquet swing

I'm looking for a racquet for around rm 200+..
Been using this racquet for 10 years +.. It's time to change..
I was thinking about getting the Wilson K Blade.... Any comment?
*
Im currently using Blade. This is my 3rd racket but ive never own Yonex before, so i cant compare it with Yonex. Previously i was using NCode 8000 and i like the racket but my GF like it more biggrin.gif So, i decided to get another racket from Wilson and somehow give Blade a try. It's kinda hard to master this racket for somebody who's used to NCode 8000 cause NCode is more off for defensive player while Blade is all around. A bit heavy head but once u master it, it goes well.

Just my 2 cents.

Try to get best shoes like Yonex shoes. Good shoes will protect ur foot, give u comfort and it can improve ur movement. If u choose wrong shoes, it might hurt ur foot.

For lower budget, u can go for Apacs, Asics, Carlton, Line 7, Protech, Fleet,

if ur brand follower, if yonex, go try for Nanospeed 500 @ NS 800 @ Carbonex 21 Special (Below RM200 without string) .

if ur not a person that like the brand more than racket, there are many racket that u can try on. the best suggestion is u borrow rackets from friends and try play with them, which racket that u feel comfortable, go for it. if u still didnt know which to choose there is a lot of selection. Apacs
EdgeSaber series, Visible Hallow, Protech rackets, Impact rackets.

Guys,

Sorry for intruding suddenly, but my mates & I just started playing badminton again after ... uh ... 10 years. Our biggest problem is the shuttlecock. We bought a tube of random cocks for rm25 and walau it was so crappy. Started off slow, but after a few smashes it became "wobbly" and superfast.

So ... what's a decent shuttlecock brand/model to buy for recreational playing? Or can I just like ... pay rm40 for any yonex/carlton shuttle & it'll be more or less pretty good?

Please recommend badminton pro-shops around the Klang Valley/PJ/Subang and also what are they good/specialize at.

e.g. Racket prices, good re-string service and etc.

I am currently looking to upgrade from an Apacs Nano 777 Power to something of higher quality.

Please recommend.

It would be good is thread starter can pin up these information in the 1st post so that easy for ppl like me to refer.

Thanks! =)

I used to own an Ashaway Muscle XT-150 last time, which I feel the feeling is almost the same as Yonex Ti-10 2nd generation (yellow color version). It's a good racket, and cost just RM180, but that model already being outphased unfortunately sad.gif

I own a NS800, I can tell you, this is one of the best under RM200 rackets from Yonex.
If you have the proper badminton stroke technique, this racket is really powerful.
The shaft is stiff, so it transfers the power very well, but of course, you need to have the proper technique to use it. I would say it's also slightly head heavy, but not obvious.

I also owned a Carbonex 21 sp before, not CArbonex 21 Special. But my thought on Carbonex racket is since it's oval headed, you must have very precise shot timing, so that you can hit on the sweetspot, which is much smaller than isometric racket. If you can do that, then the shot will be powerful and accurate. But for myself, I tried that, it's kinda hard for me, so I give up smile.gif

AT70 MG I never use before, but from the way I hold at it, it's pretty head heavy, and somehow the head looks a bit bigger to me, make sure you have the arm power to use this racket smile.gif Don't break your arm...

Just my 2 cents...

*
Try BG65 Titanium, it's a 0.70mm string (thick), but the sound is abit different from other string, maybe due to the Titanium coating. However, string is secondary, sound still actually depends on your connection angle with the shuttle when you hit it. If you hit direct (90 degrees sharp to the shuttle), any string also will produce the 'solid' sound....you can try hitting using panhandle grip technique for a taste of it, because it's easier to hit direct at the shuttle using panhandle grip technique, but of course this is not a right technique. But this drill is good for you to know how to hit the shuttle accurately...

Sri Petaling community hall (opposite secondary school) is charging RM8 per hour, but the lighting there is normal fluroscent light right on top of ceiling, quite glaring for me, but some people are ok with it, go and try out smile.gif But it's prety difficult to book, as there are oinly 3 couirts available.

Try New Vision Badminton Academy in PJ. Its located behind the new Jaya 33 Shopping Centre. They charge RM30 if you book 2 hours straight and RM 20 for just 1 hour.

That place is quite nice, rubber court.

Do you know of anywhere which sells badminton shoes for sizes UK11? Doesn't matter the brand, Yonex Asics Mizuno... nor the price (not like I have much choice here).

Tried and order from New Vision but bloody unfortunate the maximum size they are able to order is UK10.5 but my toes are still pressuring the front for UK10.5. I'd figure a 0.5 or 1 size larger would fit well.

Go AJ Racket Mart in Bandar Puteri, Puchong.
If I am not mistaken, they do have size 11 for Asics.

BG80 market price is around RM30-32 including stringing service.
Most shops do have price tag, but when you ask about the price, they will offer you cheaper smile.gif

If I'm not mistaken there is no sunrise distributor based in Malaysia. Only SG. There is a company who imports them from SG though.

I'm looking for a buyer of my AT150. The first gen AT150. Looking for price slightly above RM90. There are multiple paint chips though but still in excellent condition. There is no point keeping this racket anymore cause I last used it since 2 years ago. Anyone interested PM me. Last strung with a 27lbs BG66.

me using nanospeed 500 now, consider as a quite good racket for the price below RM200. . .

nanospeed 800 should be around RM200 with string, more stiff then the nanospeed 500, if you are a offensive player, nanospeed 800 should be quite ok for you.

apacs do produce good original design rackets.
they do produce look-a-like rackets, no doubts bout it.
their original designs are good..

Apacs rackets are cheap enough that making fakes will probably cause loses to the makers lol. I doubt there are fake Apacs unless its a joke.

Apacs is quite a good brand. I myself bought apacs edgesaber 9 from a lyn forumer. Really nice thumbup.gif especially for a female player like me. I can easily hentam my lecturer without using much force thumbup.gif For the cloning or fake part, I don't have any comment. All I can say is: I'm not afford to have a yonex and Li Ning racket sleep.gif

I don't really know which to choose between these two.. any members who owns those mention racket kind enuff to feedback some experience ?

Currently i had a yonex muscle power 9 string with 22lbs BG65 but the problem is... i just dont feel right when whacking the shuttle it feels like no power like that. sweat.gif

hi guys, noob here.. i decided to get a second racket and i had narrow down my option to these two racket yonex nanospeed 800 and armortec 70MG.

I don't really know which to choose between these two.. any members who owns those mention racket kind enuff to feedback some experience  ?

Currently i had a yonex muscle power 9 string with 22lbs BG65 but the problem is... i just dont feel right when whacking the shuttle it feels like no power like that. sweat.gif

hmm my playing style I like to whack hard tongue.gif

thanks ! smile.gif

probably because yr tension abit low, i used to put at 22 also
now i use  bg66 24lbs already quite nice to smash, but very fast putus...

High string tension doesn't really mean can produce powerful smash indeed smile.gif The higher your string tension the more accurate you have to hit the shuttle at the sweet spot in order to produce the power you desire. nicotine I suggest you change to BG66 with 22lbs, play it for at least 2 weeks. If you feel it's nice just after you re-string, you can try higher tension next time. If after couple of weeks you feel better, you should re-string for lower tension next time. And then raise the string tension gradually. Because we need accuracy as well, badminton not all about smashing. tongue.gif

noted bro, just done some reading .. really headache, now a days rackets get sooo complicated .. got different kind of stiffness somemore not like those old day where all my gang use standard carbonex 8 with bg6 laugh.gif

anyway i'll try to restring my muscle power 9 and see how it goes. Btw yanhui stated bg66 snap quite fast, so any other recommendation for string ? what about nanogy95 ?

i recommend bg80 or 85(about the same). I've used bg66 for 7 years only to find out about bg80/85 last year:sweat:
imo bg80/85 have almost similar feel and repulsion as bg66 but definitely more durable.
The most durable string i would suggest is bg65. but it lacks the performance of bg66.

but as a student...i cant afford it =(

I have tried 2 lower ends Yonex (made in Taiwan), Nanospeed 500 and 800.
They are real good rackets and selling below 200.
Nanospeed 500 is more flexible and a bit lighter whereas Nanospeed 800 is a bit heavier and stiff.
If you have good swing speed and wrist power, try Nanospeed 800, it's really excellent...

Hi,
I used this racket a while before.
It's a bit fragile to me, so better dun tie so high tension. I think 24-25 is good enough smile.gif

BG66 snaps easily, that's rite, but if you tie at 24-25lbs, it should be durable enough, but of course depending on your playing style smile.gif
Just personal preference, BG85 doesn't feel nice to me and the sound also not good... smile.gif

i'm a little bit more to offensive
that's the reason why i'm a bit afraid to string it with BG66

Armortec series are all head heavy, so definitely will affect the maneuverability, unless your wrist is real strong....not sure about AT150 and AT250 though....but quite a number of people have AT250....

Yonex AT150 and 250 are the older low-end Armortec series that Yonex produced and AT30, AT50 and AT70 are the newer generations, which means they have newer technologies(or at least Yonex claims they have smile.gif ).
So if you are comparing them, you have to compare A150 with AT250, and you can compare among AT30, AT50 and AT70.

For the differences between AT30, AT50 and AT70, take a look here:
http://www.yonex.com/badminton/racquets/armortec.html

See the differences in the technology feature and also the shaft stiffness for the 3 rackets above.
For example, AT70 has Mega G2 Frame technology and it's a medium stiff racket.

As of AT150 and AT250, AT250 is longer by 1 cm and it's also a stiffer racquet.

Hope it helps smile.gif .

Actually those info is far not enough to tell the characteristic of a racket, you see ARMORTEC 900 POWER and ARMORTEC 900 TECHNIQUE spec info is totally the same, the stupid Yonex website even didn't show the racket length (664cm? 674cm? 680cm?), is it head heavy / head light / even balance?? it does not have a measurement unit for stiffness also, e.g: AT250 is 25% more stiff then AT150, AT150 is 10% more stiff then AT70, etc. . . AT150 & AT250 is not even listed in the website also. . .

I've read it in the badminton central forum before.
the reason why yonex dont give out full detail about their racquet is because they dont want to take the trouble justify the price they put on their racquet.
imagine all the clone racquets around, if they copy the same exact description of yonex into their racquet but selling it at a much lower price, why would ppl choose to pay more when they can have it for less.
but that's just their opinions.
anyway with around budget of rm150-200, i would suggest getting other brands than yonex. apacs, victor, helm are some alternatives.
if you like smashing, I recommend VH1800.

Hi all expert...
Quite new to badminton and i'm thinking to get a new racket at around less than RM 150-RM200. At first I was considering the Yonex Nanospeed 500 but then I heard some comments said can try Apacs, as it is better than lower end of Yonex.

So now i'm lookin for Apacs but I don't know which range i should look into. I'm just a normal player so which series I should get?

Please advise.
Thanks.

Hi, for starter, get yourself a middle flexible or flexible racket.
That means it's not too hard for you to bend the racket shaft.
Try take a look at Li-Ning UC2300A, not a bad racket and also quite flexible.

with limited budget, look at apacs, thier clone series of yonex is definitely better then yonex low end series !
if you want a light weight and easy maneuvering racket try apacs edgesaber Z you can get it @ rm95 in trade zone.

basically, most of the apacs racquet are below RM150.
choose those with medium or medium soft shaft
don't string it using too high tension at first..around 22/23lbs
you can increase later

Not too sure bout the arc Z and nano 9.9k.... should be below 5k baht(comparing the price of AT900T/AT900P)...... 27-28lbs?? rclxub.gif wanna break my arm meh.... hhehehehee...
well for me the TH coded is not a problem la.... so far quality is good thumbup.gif
maybe ppl kinda sceptic towards cheaper rackets in Thailand.... that's my thought la... hehhehehhee.... or maybe i am not too pro to figure out the diff......... let me confirm the arc Z and nano 9900 next month when i am back to bkk la....

Higher tension without sufficient arm power cannot produce heavy smash though, probably will weaker than certain people who using 20lbs to smash...smile.gif

haiya arm wont break mia la sifu, just do warm up a lil bit more before u whack, a lot of ppl skl mia la, say high tension putus tangan la this la that la, further more ur arm size is bigger then mine ler, mine also blum putus hahah ...deng my smash like shit when using 22/24 lbs den gua change to 27lbs totally diffrent lor. my smash dynoed using butt-o-logical dyno machine say's it's much more powderfull laugh.gif

those kenot tahan maybe they tfk too much tongue.gif (jk jk)
U try first lol stringin also cheap mah tongue.gif tarak shiok den "potong lor" heheh btw stringing can kautim in less then 20min

@chrisling
yes that's whut most ppl says, anyway it depends on whut's lbs you are comfortable with. Oh btw when smashing ppl use wrist action, not arm, most of the power generated from wrist action/snap if i'm not mistaken. correct me if i'm wrong.

You're correct! smile.gif

But for me, it's best describe that smashing is linking to all body movement in order to create the strong one. Foot, knee, waist, shoulder, hitting point, wrist, and off-racket hand. smile.gif

I used to smash using 19lbs...Can produce strong one but the sound really not nice to hear, very rough. If change to higher tension, what I feel is just merely the different of the sound...The power, hgm...I don't know, I feel the same. >_<
