Approx price?
*
protech should be around RM55..
AS-30 should be less than RM70..

just a simple comparison, my grp used to use RSL No1 Tourney.1 month, 2 tubes.
after switching to AS30, 1 month 1 tube..and the used shuttle can still be use for warming up.
that's AS30. imagine what AS40/AS50 can do although they're much more expensive

QUOTE(jimmydotnet @ Nov 25 2010, 11:19 AM)
guys...how to know which one is the Yonex imitation and which one is Yonex original ??
what about the PBSI version...issit the cheaper one ?
planning to get one Yonex...ranged < RM 150
*
go to yonex's website. there are a few steps stated.
and for that budget, i don't recommend Yonex.
Apacs/ProAce is better

never bro, for that budget if you want head heavy i say add RM20- 30 and go for armortec 250 or armortec 70, or if u want, armortec 50 is also good, pro ace feels too light  for me
*
150 + 30 = 180..i will add 40 more to get a Victor Artery Tec..i'm using the Ti99 version
stiff and head heavy..feels solid.
arc offers Rm220 and comes with a bag..if dun wan the bag, can sell for around Rm50 or less lol

QUOTE(Augus7 @ Nov 26 2010, 12:51 AM)

hey guys, i wanna ask, when i listen to some ppl play and when they hit d shuttle, its quite loud but when i hit, d sound like no power like that. does it have anything to do with d string or d way i hit it?
*
1. timing must be right since the loud sound is produced at the sweetspot
2. string does little difference i think. some strings tend to give louder hitting sound.
3. from my exp and readings, high tension seems to produce 'crack'-like sound rather than BOOM

sound like no power not important ma..as long as the shuttle flies fast biggrin.gif

dear all,

i am new to badminton. want to grab my first badminton racket.

please recommend me a racket, prefer below rm100.

thanks.
*
dear Fabrication,

for that budget, i recommend Apacs. it has superb quality for racket with such price.
below RM100 can only get you clones of Yonex.
you can find some sellers in LYN's trade section.

i think those powerconcept should be good enuf for sub rm100.. u can ask arc1414 to recommend u, he is a good seller with good info and recommendation. but i recommend u to buck up some more, becos sub 100 makes your learning stuck at sub 100 only, around rm150 then u can practice and learn more provided u do it the correct way.
*
have you pushed to around RM500 for higher learning? tongue.gif

20lbs? Who wants it in 20lbs? String it at 27lbs and above. Anyway, even if it's repaired, I doubt the fixation in with the frame will be any good. My advice, get a new badminton racquet. Current string tension: 27lbs horizontal & 25lbs vertical.

Regards, Joey
*
blink.gif you think everybody can play at 27lbs? shakehead.gif

QUOTE(Joey Christensen @ Dec 3 2010, 11:02 AM)
It really dependable what style of a player you are. Placing shots? Net play? Hard smasher? How do you win points? Through smashing or placing shots? I started out with 24lbs and gradually play until 27lbs or 28lbs.

Not everyone is suited for 27lbs. You need the right technique, the right body placement, and experience for that. My advice it to start from beginning. If you were to give me a 20lbs, I would say it doesn't suit my playing style. There's no "bite" to it.

Regards, Joey
*
yes i totally understand and agree with your point
now i can't play with 24lbs.. doh.gif

but no point asking them to jump straight to 27lbs from 20lbs ma tongue.gif

nowadays, seems like 24lbs is a good starting tension for men
does it mean malaysian men are getting stronger? flex.gif
malaysia boleh lol

QUOTE(Omage007 @ Dec 9 2010, 03:54 AM)
so what is the [basic requirement] to get the boom boom sound?

1)must hit at the sweet spot.
2)must hit at high speed?
3)high tension? (25lbs or above?)
4)what else. . . ???

anyone here can backhand smash with boom boom boom???  biggrin.gif
*
there's a much simpler way to get boom boom sound
whenever you hit the shuttle, JUST SHOUT BOOM LOR!! icon_idea.gif whistling.gif
you want boom how many times also can tongue.gif

QUOTE(chiller @ Dec 9 2010, 04:15 AM)
boom boom sound gotta seek chrisling (21 lbs) & ziggy (28 lbs) experience. Only them can create such effects, as far as I recall.

Or eat Roti Bomb b4 game, then try on court later.
*
me no boom boom la..just bak bak..kena frame sweat.gif

QUOTE(chrisling @ Dec 9 2010, 10:10 AM)
