Guys, how much difference will it make to the balance of a racket if i used one grip vs 2 layers? Currently i am using the original grip + one layer on top.
*
it depends on what grip u use
of course, a thick replacement grip will be heavier than an overgrip by quite a bit
the heavier the grip, the more the balance will be affected

is the string already on when your brother choose the Ti3?

if the new racket is without string when your brother chose it, then most probably it's strung by the shop..might not be yonex string. have to ask the shop

Hi I'm new here and only an amateur player smile.gif
My dad gave me a budget of RM 300, I was thinking about buying a Yonex Arcsaber 008. It costs Rm 250. Or a Yonex Nanospeed 800

But I've seen many good reviews about apacs own line and their clones. For RM 200+ should I get an apacs or yonex? Also I saw alot of broken apacs racket frames. Does this happen often? How about yonex rackets' durability?

Thank you all sifus smile.gif
*
what is your play style? attacking/defensive? singles/doubles?

for that budget, i rather get Apacs top line. AS008 should be similar to Tantrum series? Tantrum 200 suits doubles more.
if single, can get Lethal 70. if add extra RM50, can get Lethal 90 which is latest model from Apacs with aerodynamic frame.

yonex low range have very low max tension. if you string over that tension and it breaks, yonex wont let u claim warranty.
Apacs have higher max tension. if it's a clash between rackets, every racket have a high chance of breakage no matter it's Yonex, LiNing, Victor or other famous brands.

I play only doubles and i dont really have any specific roles.

I plan to use around 20lbs of tension on my rackets only. I think most rackets can take this?
Are apacs' clone rackets lower in quality compared to their own lines?

Any discounts in any shops near KL/PJ that are recommended? biggrin.gif

Thank you for all the help.
*
err you very skinny? 20lbs is really low. not most, is ALL racket can take this laugh.gif

apacs clones are very high quality IMO.
i have my clone strung at 28lbs without any problem.

for shops u can go to Pertama Complex. got 2 shops there i think.
or u can go Puchong AJ.
or u can contact arc1414 at this forum. he's based at KL.

Get tantrum 200! With that budget, and ur double play. its the best solid one. clashes? hahaha... i have clashed 3-4 times(hard) but the paint also didnt chip out. i hit few times on the floor coz frustrated, but yet, paint job is still excellent. i think if i remove my string, it looks brand new. haha

its very damn solid racket. apacs tantrum 200, u wont go wrong with it. hehe

what are the differences between 285+3mm and 285+5mm in balance point??

which should be head heavier??
*
285+3 = 288mm
285+5 = 290mm

balance point is measured from most end of handle to the balancing point on the shaft
so the higher the BP, the head heavier it is

2) racket length 675mm, BP 288mm

Let say the racket head top is A, middle is B and grip handle bottom is C, so B to C is the balance point, the more head heavy the racket the smaller value from A to B, right?

but from the case I mention, the A to B for the 2 racket is
racket (1) is 670-285=385mm
racket (2) is 675-288=387mm

racket (2) having bigger B to C but racket A having smaller A to B, so which one more head heavy. . . ?? what I mean is the racket length will affect the head heavy factor also. . .

makes a lot of sense but the extra 5mm is not distributed evenly on the whole racket?
the height of the frame should be similar for most of the rackets..
so the extra 5mm might be added to the shaft or handle

let's find a real sifu to confirm this..mana itu ARC??? laugh.gif

p/s: sometimes the BP will not affect the head heaviness so much but what does more is the distribution of weight on the frame
example: AT900P and AT900T. they both have same BP but the difference in head heaviness when swung is quite obvious
also note that i've not demo both example rackets and i knew this by reading..please correct me if i'm wrong notworthy.gif

Don tarik me lo.
Want to measure make sure the racket no string or grip apply.. Means like original when u buy then u measure u will get the accurate point there.. But measure by manual mostly not exactly.
Don ask me how coz i always throw into the machice measure 1,

for AT900P n AT900T if i not mistaken the length are different, So the BP same but when u hold the feel 1 balance another will be head heavy.
All this kind BP don look so deep on it.. Each of ppl hold the same racket the feel also different 1.
No faster is Spira version !!!

I'm now thinking about buying nanospeed 850 or armortec 70mg. Currently leaning towards the AT70mg. But seen some forummers say it is too head heavy and hard to maneuver around the net, is it really that difficult?

I tried both in a store and AT70mg only felt slightly heavier, when strung is it that big of a difference?

Thank you all sifus smile.gif
*
it should not have big difference after strung..well depends on how thick you grip.
if it's thin then most probably it will feel slightly heavier but still almost the same

hi all.
im just starting to play badminton again.after few years.
mind to suggest me any racket?

mostly playing doubles.
all around. (control/placing type)

prefer apacs since it has yonex clone and it cost me less.  tongue.gif

for the string..yonex bg66 is the common use?

thanks.
*
basically all the apacs clones are almost the same
4u, BP285mm medium stiff shaft.
maybe you can try the EdgeSaber10 which clones the Arc10

for string, BG66 have good power, partly because it is a 0.66mm string
for a more rough texture string, you can try BG80. rougher texture means better "grip" for slicing shots which i think provides better placing abilities

Dear Sifus out there, I wana acquire for Apacs Nano900Power (red), how would this racket fares ? Slight head heavy & mid stiff character ?
Wana hear your comments, ribuan terima kasih !!
*
yes. accurate.
it's a very good racket but lack a bit of power IMO.
it should be due to the 4u lightweight.
if you can handle it, stringing it at high tension will be a plus since it will generate more power IMO.
some lead tape at the frame should give more power.
