i scratched my edgesaber Z today, the shaft, along the side poles, it saved me from getting my head rammed towards the pole, but the paint scratched just nice the edge saber Z slayer , all the words in the middle scratched off, other parts that got no words are fine, 
it deemed itself worthy and im  not gonna get nano 900 naw ,

Hey guys, I'm planning to get a new racket. I'm not a real powerful smasher but I am looking for a racket to improve my smashing power. So far I saw a few rackets namely Apacs Lethal 70, Tantrum 200 and the Yonex Armortec 70 MG.

I'm not so sure if I need a flexible shaft or a stiff one too. My current racket is a Yonex Isometric 80 Light which IMO doesn't give me enough power. I bought it 11 years ago too. Time for a change I think.

Yeah its been quite a while. I cant find any info on the 80 light so I myself cant make comparisons as well.
I would say I have a relatively fast swing. But I'm not sure how much the flex shaft can help me. When I got my racket long time ago, it was all about head lightness and speed but now there's a growing trend for head heavier rackets. Now I'm totally confused.

The AT70MG looks good tho.

My opinion, since you been using a light racket for 11 years, I would suggest you try out those rackets that you had mentioned, if possible, or at least try to borrow from friends to hit few shots to see if you comfortable with it or not.

From my personal experience, I used to use a even head balance racket, no issue, quite happy with itthen, when it broke, tried to get back the same racket, but, unfortunately, out of production, then, talk talk with the onwer, he reconmend me a head heavy racket, since I told him I like to smash too, but, after getting it, yes, no doubt it generate more power when smash, but, the disadvantage, my swing slowed (compared to last time), cause head heavy, when in defence position, retrieving smash, racket head face downwards, then need to swing back upwards to clear the smash, so, resulted sometimes hard to retrieve smash, or even manage to retrieve, just bola tanggung type (as compare to head balance, can hit all the way to baseline). That's why if you look at my signature below, I am trying to sell it off and purchase another one with head balance racket.

Yeah, I also saw the ArcSaber 008. Compared it to the Armortec 70 MG. The saber is a stiff shaft but less head heavy I think.

The BS10 and BS11 really caught my eye, especially the BS11 because it's more flexible than the BS10. But I'm wondering if I should spend that much on a racket.

I don't know any friends who us apacs rackets. Most of them use Yonex but the older versions so not much help to me.

get a grip on tantrum 200 and see if it suits u. its one of the most stable racket from apacs and hot selling. its around 250 or so.
well, if u wanna fork out more cash, then bs10 or bs 11 is not a bad choice either for ur style of playing. or yonex ti-10?

Hmm, if I can I'd definitely try out the Tantrum and the Lethal 70 too. I read that the TI-10 is very stiff and might be too stiff for me. I focus more on touch and control and not much on power so I want to improve that area of my game.

Of the lot, the best looking ones have to be the Armortec series.

well im using the edgesaber Z, i wanted it to be a training racquet, but i grew to love it ,swing speed is fast with slightly head heavy balance and allows quick reaction.Racquet is also slightly longer than most racquets around i noticed.

in exchange, SLIGHTLY narrower frame (very slight)

but its for me, im not sure about you, but do  consider this weapon

Actually, there is lots of fake racket in the market. And, sometimes, the fake products is so real, until really hard to spot. A good way to avoid is get from reputable seller. Anyway, since you intend to get yonex, as a guide, you can go to their website, they have a page to teach people how to spot a fake yonex.

Off topic bit, sometimes, I wonder what is the real of the racket production cost  . Reason, those branded, high end rackets, like yonex, li-ning, victors really expensive. Ok, they claimed that these rackets have the latest technology, etc, etc. Then, you can also get "similar" racket, such as Apacs, Fleets, etc at even 1/3 of the price. And, these brands, I would say in the market for quite sometimes, they even claim that they have same technology, eg nanoscience, slim shaft, etc for their racket too. So, I guess these new technolgy is not propriety to the high end branded racket, but available to all, if not, sure, yonex, etc will sue them. In fact, when I was even told, these "second tier" brand of clone racket to the high end racket is about 70% to 80% in term of quality and feel of the top end racket they cloned. But, disclaimer, I personally not so lucky got chance to try out these real high end racket myself, so, I could not vouched for the statement by those racket seller.

Therefore, from the above view, I would say that the reason why these branded racket so expensive is that we just paying for their brand, for their new technolgy (of which none propriety) and sponsorship to those world players, not because the production cost.

i am starting to play from scratch. i did try to check out this racket, head heavy abit. thinking choosing this racket as its made in jap.

I just got myself a Yonex AT70 MG. It's powerful but there seems to be no control at all. Maybe I still need time to get used to it. I think that I still prefer my Isometric 80 light but a recently noticed that there is a large crack on the head so I'll be left with the 70MG.

I am still considering getting another racket in a months time or so. The 70MG is just too difficult to use IMO because of the lack of control. Drop shots are terrible.

Since I picked it up solely to get more power behind the shuttle I think I cant complain much about it. Some of you guys recommended the Tantrum 200. Any other models to consider?

well i just got an apacs Power Concept 700, an Armotec 700 clone, feels nice, with pro ace lethal 0.66 strung at 27lbs (free string  )

Is it head heavy? The 70MG is and it's slow IMO. I'm used to head light rackets. But are there any head light and powerful rackets out there?

anyway about the powerconcept 700, its SLIGHTLY head heavy, with good power for a 4U

nah lethal light is head heavy , but he wants fast maneuvering  and powerful characteristics, so i suggested the lethal light

You're right, but its just some initial thoughts. I compared it to some older rackets I used and the older ones are better in most areas, especially control. I wanted a racket that could give me more power but i didnt know that with the 70MG, I will be losing so much control. I'll definitely continue using it because of the power advantage (backhand clears are flawless IMO). But overall, it's difficult to use. I might have to adjust my technique for this racket.

But seeing that my Iso 80 Light is about to "die". I am considering getting another racket and let my 70MG be my backup later. In short, I feel that the 70MG can't replace my Iso 80 so I'm still looking around for options.

N9900? Haven't tried that yet. The graphics are quite ugly IMO. 

I really like the AT graphics. it's really nice.

Btw, I read on the YY website that the Nanospeeds are head light, the armortecs are head heavy but nothing about the arcsabers. Are those headlight or heavy or balanced?

having one now. my whole upper body freaking sore coz i had competition yesterday 3 hours playing.
then today morning 2 hours, evening 2 hours. i can hardly move my arm to smash another shuttle at the end of it.
then my fren ask me to try getting one(i wanted one b4). so i went and get one immediately and after putting it on for 1-2 hours.
i can feel the soreness and also the elbow wreckage subside. haha... indeed not a waste of money. =.=

Hi LYN friends, did anyone tried APACS NEW TECH STRING ??? or ASHAWAY MICROPOWER 0.66mm??? mind to share ur experience with it ??? i heard that it is a good string. Btw, i'm going to change my string ,hence i need to decide which string to buy. TQ
