I'm someone that like to sms and sms it fast (hate when thing lag while smsing). At the beginning, I wasn't sure about it performance in the handwriting recognition as I don't like to use PDA type of phone which always need the little stick to tap on the screen. But after using this phone for solid 2 days (ya, just got it 2 days ago from Sungai Wang), handwriting recognition feature is consider quite ok already, at least I won't be complaining about it or get angry when writing it.

I think the best when come to handwriting recognition, is if you write chinese word, that's fast and accurate.

I think the best thing out from this phone is the "Money:Feature" ratio. Something that less than RM1k can give you features like these, I think is quite good. To me, 3G or wifi is missing from this phone might be bothering you, IF only if you are someone like to surf on the phone. Otherwise, to me, I will be consider that, I save money since I won't be online with this phone and no need to worry about my data charge in my phone bill.

I have put some document into the phone, e.g. doc, xls and txt. The file I copy into it is around 1 page length (A4). What I find out is that it is very hard to move it to the lower part of the page. When using the "stick", it seem like I'm going to "dig" into the screen protector. Another way is using my thumb to move it, but it still look very hard to move also.

Anyone facing this issue? The method of moving the document (up or down) can be done via touch screen only?

For the converted mp4 movie, you need to use either video codec of "xvid" or "mpeg4". You can't use the codec of "h264". and resolution, the max I think is 368x208 (which is the max you can push) with a frame rate of 15f/s, at least this is what I test under my cookie.

I didn't really time the charging. I think from the almost empty battery pack, it will take around 3hours and less then 3.5hours.

Yes, to me, the deleting issue did occur to me quite frequent. I'm someone that like to change the wallpaper a lot and also upload and delete my wallpaper frequently. What I usually do is to back out to the standby screen and then go into MyStuff and try delete again. Usually it work after second try.

Why this is happening, I can't say for sure, but I guess it could be at that particular deletion moment, the phone still reading all the files within the memory card and it is not finish reading yet, so, it blocked us from deleting.

PS: My files are saved in the memory card which I try to delete.

During the time when I get my Cookie, all black color also running out of stock, and I have paid extra to get my black color Cookie.

By the way, just wondering if anyone can tell me that if the Cookie can use the MicroSD 4GB card with class 6 speed?

Note: The normal MicroSD card won't state what class it is unless it is a class 2, 4 or 6. The different class stand for the speed that the card can read & write, the higher the class, the faster the speed and it is much more expensive than the normal class 1 card.

It could be. Because I have tested with "BlueTrek Mini" (product from HK) bluetooth headset, it can connect, but once I make a call, it drop the connection, and then re-connect and repeat the droping, which mean, I can't use this bluetooth with my Cookie and I don't know why this droping of connection happen. I have tried changing some settings but still fail. The same headset I tested with SE W910i, it works fine. So, Cookie might only works with certain brand of bluetooth headset.

Honestly, you should try to use bluetooth. Once you get use to using, then I don't think you would like to go back to the normal way of holding the phone to talk, as:

1. It is so much convenient as both of your hands are free up, specially when your hands are dirty.
2. Even you talk long, you won't get the heated up phone burn your ear.
3. Long time talking via phone can make my head painful (not sure to others will or not).
4. You can pick up and hang up phone easiler and faster.
5. Keep your phone clean all the time because you won't touch much on it specially when you are outside.
6. Driving is a must, which better compare to wired headphone or hand free (as your voice is like in cyper space when other party listen to).

Using bluetooth is only need you to pair it (once only), then on it and it will auto-connect, not much a trouble, at least to myself.

I having v10n firmware, so far tested on the alarm looks ok to me. Anyhow, just to prove it, this is how I set it:

Don't worry, i'm not waking up 5:55pm in the afternoon but just to do a quick test to see if the alarm working or not, and it works based on the above setup.

I would said it is the "content" in the file that having a higher bitrate and size (for video) and using a dfferent coder for wma. Sometime, even the file extension is what we think the phone can play back, but actually it is not.

If you have another video or audio convert, convert it again, and set it to the bitrate or size that this phone can play back. For the actual bitrate or size for video and audio, I guess you could get from the web.

Even you have created sub-folder under the external memory, as long as you view under "My images", the phone will display all photos that store under your phone and external memory in one single view, which is mix them in the following method:

1st : All your photos in the internal memory (follow by)
2nd: All your photos in the extenal memory

Regardless you set the primary storage to internal or external memory, the display will still be the same.

So, what you want, is actually un-donable. I guess this the way the phone UI works. Unless LG change the way "My images" is displayed.

PS: I tried to store all my photos into the internal memory by creating the sub-folders in the internal memory, BUT, if I set the viewing method to "thumbnail", then the display will not display the sub-folder name, lagi teruk.

Added on March 2, 2009, 4:46 pmYa, I tried the full length of dvix (after converted to mp4) with a bitrate of 512k and frame size of 320 x 240 and a fps of 24f/s. It is working quite ok.

But a bit strange is that, sometime, when i play it under full size (landscape), it lag a bit, sound and motion not sync, but sometime it is ok, not sure if the speed of the memory card got anything to do about it?

Tried to set to max screen size but it never work fine, which will sure lag.

Got the news from www.mylgcookie.com (LG Cookie Forum), and seem like the official firmware of v10d is finally out.

Based the website, there are few ways to flash your Cookie, and I will stick to the "GSMULTI" way to flash it as previously this is the way I flash my v10c to v10n.

If you look thru the pages, you will also find the v10d (bin file) is make available to download from rapidshare website and can be flashed via "GSMULTI" way. For those who already install the GSMULTI, here is the download page for the

I will try it tonight once I download everything (now). Hope it will be no-issue like how I did for v10n.

Yesterday afternoon, after downloaded the huge v10d firmware, finally get it flash to v10d from v10n.

Well... SMS still lag if compare to SE phone. :| But I can feel at least the touch sensitivity is improve a bit, and the speed of reading from my 2GB MicroSD is seem like improve a bit also, but not sure 100% yet.

Calculator of 220 / 2.2 already solved and the currency problem also solved. Other than that, I didn't see any other that noticable.

Try to off the phone and take out the SIM card and then re-insert it. Usually this is caused by poor contact SIM with the SIM card slot of your phone. Did you drop your phone?

Seem like this topic is slowing down. I hope it won't disappear as more and more new phones coming out recently.

The latest firmware is still v10d. So far, nothing much I can complain about it. It does improve speed a bit (more responsive), but nothing you will say "wow" about it. No restart issue so far. Reading from my 8Gb, class 6, Transend MicroSD card seem to be improve better. But I do hope any new firmware will improve the speed while smsing, as it still unable to catch up if I type it in my normal speed, I have to slow down a lot still.

I have recently purchase a Cookie original screen protector from LG showroom located in KLCC with RM35 as spare. Not apply yet as my current one still "can tahan". Is anyone able to find any other better and stronger screen protector around Low Yat Plaza nowaday?
