Really? Hurm.. then is it all electronically controlled nowdays?
Did you put your seat too high? Lower down would give you much feel of the car so you can drive better - in my POV that is.. But if you feel not confident enough, better stick with your feeling and drive slow. Sometimes we can kinda sense if something is wrong. But dear, 80 is really slow.. i bet some kapcai bike can oso overtake you with ease like that.. laugh.gif no offence ya.. hehe
really meh can outrun gen2? I've seen stock gen2 goes up to 190km/h worr.. But then, never tested it for myself. I drive an IDSI so top speed a bit lesser than yours lor caerulln.. sweat.gif

My friend tried race with a gen2 CPS, he lost. it's on genting road but that CPS was fully modded oso so really dun stand a chance.. laugh.gif
Come on.. floor it lor sometimes, can feel the syokness of Honda City laugh.gif hehehe
*
i dunno if the seat is too high or wad but ya..the seat can be pretty uncomfortable when taking corners too, feel like sliding off..or sth

maybe i need new seats xD

and corner at 80 is slow ke? wow tongue.gif i take my corners rly slowly lor but on the road i can go fast la smile.gif

Our CT only got one belt and we call it as fan belt. Ori belt is Misuboshi. Go get Bando belt instead. It cost about Rm80 outside. Model is 5PK 1145.

It's pulley-alternator belt aka fan belt

how long does it take to change the belt? 30 mins?

i gonna change it at non-honda sc tongue.gif

get the bucket seats, confirm leng and no slip one.. hahaha..

come let me test drive your city and see if it's ok or not, you should be comfortable doing up to 120 at least - corner at 80 consider ok lor.. kinda fast oso depends on what corner u taking sweat.gif i tot you mean drive straight at 80km/h sweat.giflaugh.gif

the roads i take, usually i cannot go more than 100 one cos always jam ._.

LDP Is always jam, and at night there are useless ppl hogging the fast lanes..n there r some corners too near the church and all, where people slow down to cut here n thr..then in the terowong also

NKVE from Damansara to Subang, can pecut a bit lah but..usually i go in the mornings, banyak orang, all the bmw all no need to race la hahahaha tongue.gif

so yah..fastest i've gone is abt 100-110 oni tongue.gif

but corners, WAY slower, probably less than 80 even..probably like 50 or 40 AHHAHAHAHAHAHA..

and no la the seats r comfy..but just that..when takin corners or wad feels like fallin off the chair..usually haf to tahan with my leg on the side of the centre console or sth lolz..or i just..move along with the..flow

"or i just..move along with the..flow" i like the way that sounds laugh.gif

well, like what cerulln says, city body (or may i add, the ass or behind) just like to roll over when you corner..

i spinned off once because of that (it was wet) and had numerous times so kinda 'drifted' the back when taking corner during wet - i think should be about 90 - 110 when i do that, medium corner. So now during wet i drive like uncle bcoz scared already sweat.gif

ah just got back from my breakfast.. with another honda city member (4g), discussing about what mod to do next with our ride laugh.gif hehehe

Top speed I'm not sure.
Top speed is nothing.
Gen2 gearing is different so the top speed might be higher.
My top speed is 184 verified by gps.
our speedo is not very accurate

That gen2 is not a CPS i think.
CPS is basically a Proton's vtec
my lil bro got a cps gen2.
I hate driving it.
The only thing I like is the ride height is much lower than city.

I would think that our city will win going up genting due to our CVT.
Anyway, I don't race those losers. All i will do is floor it.
I don't swerve into lanes. That's reckless.
If they do it, I'll just let them go. I'll stick in the fast lane.

hmm hmm caerulln speaking from experience brows.gif hehe..

do you mod your ride?

mine still stock, super stock sweat.gif just play with the 7speed when need more boost.

There was once a hmm.. wat car ha.. some car loh, looks like modded, going quite fast as well. I overtook him using the 7speed mode, rev kaw2 one real loud rpm like 5 - 6 all the time but speed was like 40 - 60 (road got many traffic lights and junctions - and lots of cars during that time as well) so after overtook this fella stayed close behind me.. but not tailing very close, maybe to check whether my car is modded or not..

after like 10 minutes tailing me and yeah i was going fast - i decided to let him pass, but he didn't, dunno if scared of my roaring engine or what.. lol.. but it was fun lor seeing him scared to overtook me.

IDSI have much better pickup in low torque compared to VTEC, but of course VTEC win in the long run when the VTEC kicks in sweat.gif

Thinking of getting a drop in filter and a VS or a power booster.. but haih, not now maybe later lor..

mine is completely stock as well.
Not gonna waste money to mod it.
A city can't go any much faster no matter how much money we put.
Spending money on a 1.5 liter engine is just not worth it.
& of course the CVT is a major limitation.
The city is a beater car. I don't baby it.
Gotta save to buy my intermediate dream car..350z
then can break the bank to twin turbo it biggrin.gif

btw, anyone here use the 7-speed to downshift for engine braking?
I do it all the time that it becomes second nature already.
Whenever I need to brake, I'll activate the 7-speed & lower the gear gradually down to 2 while pressing the brake paddle gently.

Especially when I'm speeding & a turn coming up or some losers suddenly blocking my way.
Our brakes felt too weak & easy to fade.
Engine braking helps a lot.
Sometimes I don't even need to press the brake paddle.

Will this adversely affect the CVT in any significant way.
Yes that definitely put extra stress on it.
So far so good.

I think u can get some key shops to duplicate the remote.
They'll have a device to scan the frequency.

& AFAIK, our keys or remotes are not chipped to link with the immobilizer.
The immobilizer is linked to the alarm system.
Anyone who can disarm the alarm, will disarm the immobilizer as well.

come julnoel, let's go together. I want to duplicate your .. eh i mean, my remote as well laugh.gif I only got 1 remote working and the other day my son played with it (dunno if he ate it or what) then the next day when i want to go to work the alarm won't disarm sweat.gif

Had to tekan tekan and wait for 5 minutes then only alarm disable and i can get inside.. nasib baik i ngam2 sampai office if not late lor laugh.gif

now scared already because only got 1 remote.. sweat.gif

caerulln, yes i play with the 7 speed to what you call downshift or engine braking too. But sometimes only lor when i drive fast. Logically if you do this the wear and tear should be more - so not advisable to do it more often lor.

I oso do burnout sometimes - Put gear on N, rev kaw kaw then put gear on D and initiate burnout.. laugh.gif i dun baby my car oso.

julnoel, play around with the 7 speed lor.. better way is to shift S and engage 7 speed, you sure feel more pickup and drag compared to usual D shift.

Just that it's hard to shift gears when cornering.... sweat.gif dun you think so caerulln?

Regarding the alarm, I don't know how but in certain places at a very specific location, the alarm just refused to disarm.
Move a little, no problem.
I'm guess some sort of interference.
My dad experienced this 1st. Went to a shop then only after so long pressing the alarm button, did it disarm.
I tried at the exact same location, & the exact same thing happened.
This happens at some very specific places only. Usually no problem.
But when it happened, it is really annoying shakehead.gif

how can u do burnout?
I can barely chirp the front wheel doing neutral drop.
& that definitely will kill the CVT ASAP laugh.gif

well then maybe just a reason to swap far a manual tranny? brows.gif

wah really? i dunno about the alarm interference thing.. I thought it's spoiled or what but hmm.. that's interesting to know. Anyway, I do need to duplicate my remote because I only have one, so if that's lost, then I'm going to drive a screaming Honda City laugh.gif all the way to the accessories shop.

Well, it's not like actual burnout, just a few tyre spins before you actually move. Need a lot of rev about 5 - 6 then can only make that happen, so the others will hear a screeching sound tongue.gif

Yes lor of course will kill the CVT faster that's why I don't do it often - twice a year maybe? laugh.gif

no lor, can't afford to change to manual.. btw, i'm a family man now so driving auto really cut out the stress from jams and what..

I'm buying a touch up paint for my car soon, so sad the front part paint got chipped by stones.. also got minor scratch at side and back so thought of cleaning that off.

Anyone want to buy paint can contact me laugh.gif

my city got so much scratches, stone chips, dents & key marks that I don't care anymore.
Beater cars are supposed to be like that.
It'll drive me crazy if I have to fix every one of them.
As long as it gets me from A to B comfortably, that's good enough.
i do wash it though smile.gif
