What is the frequency of belt change?

I can confirm it's electronically assisted on my idsi 2003. Maybe you should try performing this and see if it's the same as yours julnoel.

Yeah, really scary if sudden everything malfunction or the electronics got cut off

but based on my test, if the power cuts - you still have like 2 or 3 times brake which are electronically assisted, before it run out of juice. I guess it got some capacitors to store energy for emergency, i guess...

so once no power, make sure you brake and stop ASAP.

According to the Honda website...
VTEC 80k km service is RM656.25. IDSI is RM736.30. Must be becos of the extra spark plugs.

However, 100k km service for VTEC is RM803.40 versus IDSI's RM391.35. I wonder why?

Which SC u guys go to that can bargain the price? The one I visit is like fixed price... damn these blood suckers...

i think it's fixed if you go to SC..

i just changed CVTF the other day, got mine done for less than 100 (80 to be exact) - bought the fluid outside, then done at my fav local workshop.

if can go outside cheaper lor..

i tested it 2 times and got the same result.

The other thing, my friend who drives a 2005 honda city idsi told me that his car 'over-rided' by itself.

It happens like this - my friend was speeding through the corners at speed roughly around 140km/h, there was a right turn in front, all of a sudden because it's too fast for him to corner, (he claimed lor..) the car automatically locks his steering wheel straight and automatically slows down the car until 100 or so.. then he got control back and quickly turn. This was for a sec or two maybe..

although i do not know if he got this placebo effect - because he was going quite fast and you never know what the road like, got oil or what until the steering is stuck..

but scary oso after heard that..

Doing 140 in our car into a turn is downright reckless.
Even on a highway ramp, I can barely do 110 confidently.
Our car rolls too much & understeer excessively. Add some more speed. Lose an extra traction on the inner tire, & we're dead.

that was his old days, he still have that celica with him, but didn't use it and just collecting dust maybe..

u mean u can't do a 110 on a straight highway road or a turn on highways? I know.. if turn, our city handling is not that good oso, even on straight road with minor bump i can feel the car is very light and like going to take off when i'm driving between 130 - 140.

caerulln, what model of city do you own and what color?

I can do 140 on straights all day long.
Top speed 184 (psshh..don't tell anyone )
I mean I can't do more than 110 confidently on a tight highway ramp.

I don't know whether this really shows that our CITY has electronic assisted braking because my Wira 1.6 also will have the same effect when I brake a few times while engine is turned off....

1 thing I like is our engine is more powerful than Gen-2 1.6 (duh..they're proton..what can we expect)
A gen-2 flash me on a highway coz i go into the fast lane just as he is about to overtake me.
I just floor it & he can't tailgate me.

Did you put your seat too high? Lower down would give you much feel of the car so you can drive better - in my POV that is.. But if you feel not confident enough, better stick with your feeling and drive slow. Sometimes we can kinda sense if something is wrong. But dear, 80 is really slow.. i bet some kapcai bike can oso overtake you with ease like that.. no offence ya.. hehe


really meh can outrun gen2? I've seen stock gen2 goes up to 190km/h worr.. But then, never tested it for myself. I drive an IDSI so top speed a bit lesser than yours lor caerulln..

My friend tried race with a gen2 CPS, he lost. it's on genting road but that CPS was fully modded oso so really dun stand a chance..

Come on.. floor it lor sometimes, can feel the syokness of Honda City hehehe
