he could have gone below the radar get someone to bring mike out - pretend to be injured and cannot do so. Putting himself in the spotlight will make it easier for others to recognize him!

Mike and Susan is divorced because of the Susan's guilt over the accident.

As for Edie and Dave portion, perhaps it would be explained in this season. Edie left Fairview in Season 4 if I remembered correctly.
