Most in the list here are current players. I'll do one for the legends (that I've actually seen playing)...
Warning: I'm a Gooner, so do expect some bias
GK: Peter Schemeichel (sp?)Its either him or my own team's David Seaman. As much as I hate to say it, Schemeichel has a slight edge over Seaman with his presence.
LB: Roberto CarlosSay what you want, but those tree trunk thunder thighs could do amazing things when striking the ball. Who can forget that freekick in the Le Tournoi?
RB: CafuHaving R Carlos without Cafu is like peas without carrots. And credit to the man, he could still bomb up and down with overlaps in his mid 30s!
CB: NestaIn his prime, the most solid defender I've seen. Simple, effective and no-nonsense.
CB: Tony Adams (This is the bias part) Hey, he brings leadership k. And not too bad a defender either. Captain of the team of course.
LM: Zinedine ZidaneOf course this is just a nominal left position, like the way he played in Real. The elegance, the poise and skill on the ball was simply breathtaking!
CM: Patrick VieiraPlayed in a slightly more advanced position to break up counter attacks with those long legs. When he carries the ball in the middle of the park, hardly anyone can stop him legally!
CM: Roy KeaneWith Vieira and Keane in midfield, who needs wingers right? Let them dominate the middle with Zidane and the other guy cutting in from the wings... Speaking of the other guy...
RM: MaradonnaTechnically, I only saw videos of him playing. But its my fantasy dream team and I can do whatever I want! His position is more of a 2nd striker, but he did score THAT goal against England starting from right midfield. His dribbling abilities will draw defenders like bees to honey, which frees up more space for...
ST: Fat Ronaldo from one season in BarcaWho can forget that year in Spain? Say what you want about CRon's 42 goal haul, but Fatty's form that year was just unstoppable!
ST: Thierry HenryWith Zidane cutting into the middle, Henry will be able to occupy his favourite left side position. Dribble, dribble, dribble, cut in, pass into the bottom right corner of the goal.
How nice if this could happen...
