Hi all,
I've just upgraded my 2G iphone to 2.1 and iTunes 8.0. Everything was working fine, managed to backup and restore my contacts and etc. I spent few hours to work on the playlist , songs and apps and then after that suddenly my iTunes just suddenly crashed. When i start it again, it just totally blank, no music db, playlist or apps.
Does anyone know how to get the information such as playlist and music database back from my iPhone back to my iTunes. I've tried to get the backup playlists files in the local iTunes folder, but it doesn't work as the files is too old. The only way i can think of is to get the files from the iphone but i do not know which file, would appreciate some help here.
Now i don't dare to sync because if i sync, iTunes now which is blank will overwrite all the information and apps on the phone. Please help if you know which files i should take from the iPhone to restore iTunes.
Thank you.

I don't know about iPhone. But if you have an Ipod ,you can try CopyTrans. It works on iTunes 8,too. Link:http://www.copytrans.net/download.php

Lesson learnt, need to backup even iTunes, there's an option under file in which iTunes can be backed up. Apple not as reliable as people think.

Apple not as reliable as people think.correct me if i'm wrong, but since when was apple fool/fail proof? it is just plain naive to assume so. i have never heard that coming out before from any users whom i know personally (assuming so, since i own a macbook, ibook 15" and a vista based dell xps) This post has been edited by nokia2003: Oct 1 2008, 05:09 AM
