Name of App: Live Poker

Price: FREE

Compatibility to iPhone/iPod Touch: Both

Your own personal description of this App:

If you liked Texas Hold'Em, you're going to love this one from the same game developer. As opposed to Texas Hold'Em, Live Poker is essentially an online based game because you can only play when you are connected to the Internet. They dub themselves the largest casino in the world as you are connected to other poker players around the world from various existing platforms namely Facebook and Myspace. If you notice the screen shot above, it says 75,763 players online. It went up to around 85,000 while writing this review.

For those familiar with Texas Hold'Em, Live Poker has a very similar horizontal view but with a few extra buttons for online interaction. Of course, the vertical view is absolutely non-existent here though it would be VERY impressive if it did.

The game is beautifully done and laid out in a very intuitive manner. Game play is smooth as well. I will explain more of the features with the following screen shots:

user posted image

Oh look! What a lucky first hand.

user posted image

Chat features which draws up the keyboard when tapped on.

user posted image

If you see a hottie, you can actually buy her a drink! tongue.gif You can also add another player into your poker buddy list. Live Poker gives you the option to use your Facebook account on the application so you can actually add poker buddies through Facebook too.

user posted image

Now I know this game can be addictive but if you run out of chips, let's hope your gambling bug doesn't bite and you end up actually paying for extra chips. Just so you know, for everyday you connect to this game they give you 1000 in chips. You even get extra chips for inviting poker buddies. More than enough for your daily poker fix, wouldn't you agree?

Pros:

> Sophisticated and beautiful game design.
> Intuitive layout.
> Easy to use.
> Great interactivity features should you choose to use them.
> Great for both quick pick up games as well as long drawn out games.
> Long game interest lifespan. How do you get bored of this?
> Feckin hell...It's Free!

Cons:

> Must be connected to the Internet to play. No offline mode.
> Can be a very slight bit sluggish in very rare instances during game play. Might be an Internet connection problem more than anything though.

Personal User Rating: 10/10 Where else do you get a great app like this for free?

Conclusion:

What else can I say? If you haven't started downloading the game into your iPhone, I'm not quite sure what's wrong with you hehe... It's a great app and you don't have to pay for it. There is a paid version of this game retailing for US$9.99 which starts you off with 40k in chips but heck, you don't really need it with the daily 1000 chips allocation.

Name of App: Ace Tennis Online

Price: USD0.99

Compatibility to iPhone/iPod Touch: Both

Your own personal description of this App: Tennis game which allows you to chat/play online with players all over the world

Pros:
1. play with players all over the world (and there is an option to select your desired country origin players)
2. and at the same time chat as well (haven for meeting girls online? blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif )
3. entertaining
4. maximises your accelerometer by curling the ball left/right, long/short ball et cetera
5. cheap

Cons:
1. running for the ball can be sometimes be interrupted by confusing between hitting the ball and running
2. doesn't look very 3D to me, despite being claimed that way
3. names of the computer player names are clearly a rip off from the famous players
4. multiplayer with other users can be laggy (hence playing over the telecommunication network provider is not recommended)

Personal User Rating: 8/10

Conclusion: this should be able to keep one entertained without regretting the purchase

Name of App: iVault (free version limited to 10 cards)

Price: Free

Compatibility to iPhone/iPod Touch: Both fully compatible, although it's been made for iPhone in mind

Your own personal description of this App: Great for storing minor or major details about your purchased item (original stuff) like UPC code, purchased date, model, serial number. Those info are stored in someplace called 'Cards' and it does offers a lot of categories to choose from.

Pros:
- Simple and clean user interface.
- Offers a great variety of categories to create your cards, just to list a few: Contacts, Electronics, Clothes, Software serial number, etc... Never forget your password anymore!
- You can show off your collectibles with your friends!
- Ability to create custom categories for your cards, eg: Books, Robots, Portable Device, you name it.
- Backup your cards online. You'll need to purchase an account though. I don't think this is crucial. Well, it's quite rare for iPod to malfunction.

Cons:
- Some lag time (miliseconds) when tapping the button. It is a very minor issue though.
- In order to create more than 10 cards, it requires you to purchase the pro version, which is kinda expensive.

Personal User Rating: 8/10

Conclusion:
Definitely a nice app for storing details about your purchased collectibles, either for future references or showing others about them. Like your newly purchased iPod Touch.

Name of App: APP SNIPER

Price: $0.99

Compatibility to iPhone/iPod Touch: Both

Your own personal description of this App:
- Its a brilliant app.
- It will scan the App Store and list down Apps that are free or those that have undergone a price cut!
- Some Apps will have 'limited time price cuts' or 'limited time for free', and this app finds em out.
- I was able to purchase many apps that had to be paid for free!
- Also, if you like an app but its too expensive, u can "TAG" it and if the price comes down, the App Sniper will inform you.

Pros:
> Very useful! Good interface and simple to use. Just need WiFi or Edge Connection.
> Allows for some good buys.
> Example: Dr Awesome, a cool game, is initially $1.99. The app store informed me that it was $0.99. So i bought it!
> Example: ACTSudoku from $1.99 is now FREE!
> Can save you money

Cons:
> Can give a false sense of savings tongue.gif
> The prices are still in U$ Dollars
> Can be addictive

Personal User Rating: 9/10 (not perfect due to the hidden addiction it may cause) Lol

Conclusion:
I would strongly recommend this app to avid App Store users.
For $0.99, its a good investment smile.gif

Name of App: Woord Book
Price: $1.99

Compatibility to iPhone/iPod Touch: Yes

Your own personal description of this App: Its a dictionary.

Pros: 1.Its really easy to use.
2.Got three different voices.
3.Give a brief meaning of the word that you want to know.lets say if you dont know certain words that they tell you, just tap on that word and the meaning will come out.
4. Also have crossword and Anagram

Cons: Its include a pronunciation but 2 of it have to use a wifi. The one that didn't have to use a wifi is not very clear the pronunciation. I think my WeDict version 1.1.4 which include a pronunciation is better than this one.

Personal User Rating: 8/10

Conclusion: Very good for a people to find a meaning of certain word. No need to bring ur dictionary book. brows.gif

Name of App: Need For Speed Undercover

Price: $9.99

Compatibility to iPhone/iPod Touch: All Generations

Your own personal description of this App: One of the best racers out there. Fluid 3d graphics, no lag. Lots of missions with cool cinematic cutscene. Not to mention, many licensed cars to choose from.

Car crashes are realistic, and police chases makes up all the fun. Not to mention, car is fully customizable with an interface similar to the PC version. Whats not present is the free roam mode in the pc, which is not something unusual for a mobile platform.

All in all, good racer if you are fans of the racing genre. This and 2XL motocross is a definite grab for all racing fans.

Pros: Realistic Graphics, sound effects. Cinematic cutscene.

Cons: Noisy game music. No multiplayer.

Personal User Rating: 8/10

Conclusion: A must buy for racing fans.

Name of App: CineApps

Price: Free

iTune Link : CineApps

App support Url : here

Compatibility to iPhone/iPod Touch: Both compatible

Your own personal description of this App:

I have tried Maxis ticket booking app and find it very terribly done. The app is very stupid. It allows the users to book ticket from TGV only and worst of all, you must be using Maxis line to book. No doubt Maxis is the only telco in Malaysia that sells Apple iPhone but they cannot assume all the iPhone users in Malaysia are using Maxis only. The user interface for the app is also very bad. Too plain and not nice.

I have recently downloaded this CineApps and find it very nice to use. The interface is very user friendly and it has showtimes for TGV, GSC, Cathay, Big Cinema, Lotus, Iswaria and Star. They have the trailers for "Now Showing" and "Coming Soon" movies. They do put dates on the coming soon movies therefore i will be able to know when the movie will be released. There are also a list of other movie trailers available in the database. The apps is even faster and more stable compared to Maxis apps.

Pros: Stable, Nice interface, Fast to load, Has the showtimes and movie trailers for all the cinemas in Malaysia. Even my friend in Sabah and Sarawak also use the app to check for movie showtimes and watch trailers.

Cons: Has some minor bugs such as the first cinema in the favorite list cannot be clicked. Hopefully the bugs will be fixed in the next coming update.

Personal User Rating: 10/10

Conclusion: Will be looking for more features from the app in the near future. It is good to see Malaysia local freelance made app can be so much better than giant company made app like Maxis. Way to go ! rclxms.gif

Name of App: Awesome note +

Price: USD 3.99

Compatibility to iPhone/iPod Touch:
iPhone OS3.0 and above. iPod Touch/iPhone compatible.

Your own personal description of this App:
At first I downloaded the lite version which is free and after using it for few hours straight away bought it.

Pros:
1) I like the feature where you can put a due date on certain task. Some people would use calendar but For those months ahead I prefer to put in note instead. If you have a due date/reminder it will have a badge on top of the application in red. I put the app on my first page so I won't miss it. Otherwise you would have overlook it.
2) It has a function of like stickies memo where you can just quickly jot down in there.
3) Can sort notes by priorities, last modified date etc.
4) Can upload to Google Docs but see the cons as well smile.gif
5) The lite is limited to up to certain amount of folders you can create plus the icons, the folder color, background picture are limited. I can live with the folder color, icon etc limitation but I can't like with numbers of folders created etc hence I bought the full version.

Cons:
1) The same password used to protect the startup (when try to access the note) are being use for protected folders as well. In sense it would be wise to either lock the whole application or only selected folder and not apps and folder.
2) If they have options to sync via webdav somehow would be great as I can use my own webserver to upload to.
3) If they can personalise how to create a badge count would be nice. Now they only have 3 option which are Overdue, Over due + today and Overdue+Tomorrow. If it can have say to have the badge appear 1hr before overdue would be great since we have the option to put a due date along with the time.

Personal User Rating: 9.5/10

Conclusion:
Great app for writing and jotting down notes. At times you just need it to write it all down then maybe take a photograph from the whiteboard and just stick it in the notes.

Name:Eliminate: Gun Range
Developer: Ngmoco
Price:$0.99/£0.59 Gyroscope game!
Compatibility: Iphone4

One of the few games in the App Store already taking advantage of the iPhone 4’s gyroscope is Eliminate: Gun Range from ngmoco.

It’s a very simple gun range game, where you pick off various targets with an increasing array of firepower at your disposal. Aiming the gun is done by tilting the handset and physically moving it around you to look to either side; it’s really impressive. You don’t have to faff about with any complicated swiping and this keeps your screen fully visible at all times too; you simply tap anywhere to shoot.

It’s very accurate; even the slightest movement registers onscreen. The action is very smooth and the brilliant display on the handset makes even the fairly simple graphics quite striking.

It’s very basic, so there’s not much more to say about it. We’re sure that app developers are beavering away day and night to get the most out of the iPhone 4’s gyroscope now that the hardware is available. But as a first example of the gyroscope’s abilities, Eliminate: Gun Range is worth a go.

i think is a must have apps!
