well, i use a yamaha dgx205 and i've been recording whole songs, and i know i can send them to my PC. the question is, can anyoen recommend to me some programs (free if possible) that can record me singing via a mike and the minus one track playing? eg i'll be playing the mp3 file and singing into a mic, possible to record tht? Audacity doesnt allow me to hear the song while singing.

download "reaper", multitrack recording, a shareware, developed by the creater of winamp. it's a very powerful application, powerful enough to compete with other more expensive softwares.

it'll not expire although it's a shareware, if you want to buy it it's also very cheap (USD$40 for home license and $200 for commercial license).

Well if you're using OSX , Garageband allows you to do that exactly. That is if you're using OSX

The software is crippleware by the way. It does not enable some of its other functions once you have paid !

you mean, UNTIL i paid?? no, im using windows XP.. thanks anyway..

no, fully functional, whether you enter your serial or not. smile.gif

windows only, though (if i'm not wrong).

thats alright, seeing as im a windows user. =) thats great, its fully functional. but then why would people pay for it then?

erm.... there's fruity loops, i pretty much use it for drum beats, filters, and other extras .....but you can do lots with it. It's one of those popular music programs like cubase and audition...
