hmm, its gonna be a biased thread. mu will go for ron, berba,tevez or rooney. arsenal wil chose ade or RVP, liv will choose torres. if robin can stay injured free, i believe that he can win it. i will never vote for ron, although he has a chance. biased? totally

I hope it won't be biased IMO I'm a die hard Arsenal fan I admit but I also acknowledge the fact that the likes of Torres and Ronaldo will no doubt score loads again this season thus having a good shot at being the Golden Boot winner come end of the season. Supporting is one thing but sometimes you just have take your hat off to good players regardless who they play for.

Voted for Torres . I just think its gonna be his year. However having the top scorer doesn't necessarily mean you're going to win the BPL ! :hint:

It will be between Ronaldo, Torres and Adebayor. I hope Adebayor wins it but with Ronaldo back it's hard to see him not winning it to be honest. If Owen stays fit he might get close, natural goalscorer that man.

Cristiano Ronaldo has shown what he is capable of last night. Main contender for top scorer, PFA Player of the Season and BPL Player of the Season awards.

Zaki is also capable of scoring alot of goals. Never write Torres off. Adebayor, not so likely.

Torres just opened an account. Soon he's on course to clinch the top scorer title.

Like I said earlier it will be between Adebayor, Torres and Ronaldo. Zaki and Defoe may be outside bets if they maintain their form but I don't see anyone else really.

Hmm I'll have a go at identifying some darkhorses.

1) Djibril Cisse (Sunderland) - He has already scored 2 goals and i'm wondering if his output will increase when Sunderland welcome Kenwyn Jones back into the side, providing the perfect spoiler for the speedy Frenchman. His finishing leave a little something to be desired but he has blistering pace. He struggled a little at Liverpool but it's probably because most teams sat back against us and Cisse was given previous little space. Playing for Sunderland however means that his side are likely to be on the backfoot a lot more and he will relish the extra yardage offered to him.

2) Afonso Alves (Middlesbrough) - Has scored 7 goals in 15 games for Middlebrough since signing from Heerenveen for whom he scored 45 goals in just 39 games. Prior to that he scored 29 goals in 55 games for Malmo and in total, averages a goal every other game, just. Big, strong, direct and definitely has goals in him.

It's easy to pluck names from the air but do any of you have reasons why you elected your candidates? Torres may face the second season syndrome where defenders may have adapted to him. Berbatov may not get as many in a team which has other goalscorers like Wayne Rooney and Ronaldo. Zaki may just be a flash in the pan being an unknown quantity and all. So any reasons you think the above will not happen?
