I like the POTC movies, they're really fun.

All the movies is actually about Jack Sparrow's adventure. So I think the new trilogy will be a whole 'nother different adventures with whole new different characters (except the Pearl's crew maybe). We won't see any character from Port Royal. Perhaps a few unexpected cameo (nothing to do with the new plot) from the first trilogy characters is fine though.

The first new movie we'll see Jack in his small leaking boat, arriving to a totally new island/port, meet new characters, and forced to embark on a adventures with them, while secretly crafting his own quest (fountain of youth?). This new adventures will take up a whole new trilogy.

Yeah, in the end of the trilogy, we'll see Jack sails away to open sea in another leaky small boat. thumbup.gif

Pirates of the Carribean: The Fountain of Youth ???

I can imagine the opening of part of Pirates 4 - - Jack Sparrow being all stupendously funny in the small boat he set 'sail' at the end of Pirates 3, using the middle part of the map that he removed to find the Fountain of Youth.

Penelope Cruz eyes 'Pirates of the Caribbean' sequel

user posted image

Penelope Cruz is in negotiations to join Johnny Depp and sail the seven seas in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," the fourth installment of the movie series being directed by Rob Marshall.

Depp is reprising his popular role of Captain Jack Sparrow, and while plot details are buried deeper than Blackbeard's treasure, it is known the tale revolves around the Fountain of Youth.

Cruz's character details are also being kept secret, though she is to be Sparrow's foil and equal in many ways.

Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot wrote the script. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing.

For Cruz, the role reunites her with Marshall, who directed her in "Nine." Her performance garnered her an Oscar nomination in the best supporting actress category just last week. She won the Oscar for best actress in a leading role for 2009's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona."

"Pirates" will set sail before cameras in Hawaii this summer. Disney plans for a May 20, 2011, release.

Actor to play villain Blackbeard in fourth installment

Ian McShane is in negotiations to play the villain in " Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," the fourth installment of the Disney movie series being directed by Rob Marshall.

McShane will play legendary pirate Blackbeard -- whose real name was Edward Teach -- who piloted the ship Queen Anne's Revenge.

McShane will join Johnny Depp, reprising his role of Captain Jack Sparrow, and Penelope Cruz, Sparrow's foil and equal in many ways, in a tale that revolves around the Fountain of Youth.

Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot wrote the script. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing.

A working British actor since the 1970s, McShane gained notice Stateside for his work in HBO's "Deadwood," where he played the brutal owner of a brothel. McShane starred in the short-lived TV series "Kings" and did voice work in "Coraline" and "Kung Fu Panda."

The Comic Con 2010 Trailer for the new Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides:-

Kind of a lame preview actually (it's certainly not a trailer). Not very funny, and I don't think it's a good idea to break the 4th wall like that.

Opening Minutes of Pirates 4 on Stranger Tides...

Wanna know how “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” opens? Well here are the first few minutes of the film according to What’s Playing

The opening scene from “On Stranger Tides” goes something like this …

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Fits in with the “Fountain of Youth” storyline that we’ve been hearing about. Also, they say a teaser trailer
might show up in front of “Tron: Legacy” in December.

Johnny Depp returns as Captain Jack. He’s joined by Ian McShane as badass pirate Blackbeard and Penelope Cruz
as his feisty daughter. Set pics of the threesome together here. Rob Marshall takes over for Gore Verbinski, who has moved onto, ahem, other tides.

Johnny Depp, reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, is currently filming scenes for Pirates Of The Carribean: On Stranger Tides in Greenwich's Old Royal Naval College.

The area surrounding the college has undergone a transformation to create a realistic backdrop of London as it was 350 years ago.

In new action scenes, Depp, 47, is seen leaping from a third floor building to try and escape the English Guard.
And during a shooting break the A-lister was seen mingling with extras trussed up in costume, as well as crew members in contemporary dress.

The fourth installment of the Pirates series is due for release next May.

Castmates have already shot scenes in Los Angeles, Hawaii and Puerto Rico and will be filming in London for six weeks.

Hollywood star Johnny Depp has made an unannounced visit to a London primary school after receiving a letter from one of its pupils.
The actor turned up at the school in Greenwich, South London, dressed as his Pirates of the Caribbean alter-ego Captain Jack Sparrow.
He said nine-year-old Beatrice had written to Captain Jack, asking him to lead a mutiny against her teachers.

...he must have just been around the corner filming his movie. Nice of him to make the effort to drop by the school.
