The best headset is the most expensive price that you afford to buy. Just dont try to save money on cheap heatset, it broke so easy. I recommend Plantronic - affordable pro headset.

Steelseries 5hv2 or a Steelseries Siberia Neckband (Only because I have one. =D). I hear the Sennheiser series is good as well, but the thing is I don't own one so I can't say. You can try asking nightmarej4ck here on LYN cause he just bought one. As for the whole soundcard issue, I bought my neckband with the 3.5mm jacks and got myself a RM30 '3D' soundcard and tbh, the 30 dollar soundcard, for me, works as well as the actual Siberia soundcard most of the time. I'm sure there will be people arguing with me about that, but that's just my opinion.
EDIT: If you have friends overseas like I do, I suggest you get your SS equipment from them. I bought my Neckband sans USB soundcard for slightly over RM250 and my friend shipped it back for me for free. That's better than forking out RM366 for a unit. Theres no "best headset" FOR COD4. Just go by the option base on budget and preference... thats always my 1st advice. Sennheiser, Plantronic, Steelseries all are good brands... test more headset if possible...then choose base on the sound each produced...then choose one that you comfortable with. My 2 cents...

QUOTE([xEF) syNc,Oct 15 2008, 07:46 PM] Er, I'm not sure about the sound quality for the Siberia but it doesn't have an inbuilt mic. If you play mostly LAN, then I suppose you won't need the mic cause you'll be shouting most of the time. Two of my teammates are getting 5hv2s, though. 2 guys in ESP have that as well, so that should give you a general idea of how good it's supposed to be. =DHi bro, I plan to buy either Siberia full-set or 5H v2, which do u recommend? |

The best headset is to have a friend beside you spying opponent's pc and telling you where they are xD
