While originally I did not mind much the posting of Shop Threads in the Console Couch and its sub-forums, it has come to pass that there are more Shop Topics than actual discussions.

Originally, I felt that having the threads there would serve as a good price reference for new buyers.

Some of the moderators have been discussing this and we hope to move all the shops to Garage Sales while still maintaining easy reference and easy access for those who need it.

Several ideas have been put out, but right now we are putting it you the shopkeeps and the regulars here to put forward suggestions as how we may go about this.

Proposed plans are to relocate all shop/seller threads into a sub-forum under Garage Sales. If locating the thread is a little too hard/difficult, then a redirect link would be added on to the sticky, or as a subforum redirect like in Girls Club.

@ acougan: Yes, we plan to have it like that. But Mud's concern is that other forum users from different sections(like Apple for example) would want their own subforum as well. So a re-direct link is suggested. But this is all still under consideration.

@ cwl_ykh: Your input is appreciated. wKkay also took notice about the amount of sellers under the tag "Consoles" is quite much. So the plan is to consolidate all Console items/sellers into one sub-forum which is under Garage Sales(plus the re-direct link in Console Couch, like what acougan proposed).

In addition, with filter tags like "SHOP" and "SELLER", it would be possible to exclusively view just the shops.

Yes! Finally the mod is concerning our request for a console garage sale. I think there's no other best way other than subforum, watching ninja always updating PlayStation BuySellRent Thread makes me pity of him and felt tired for him.

second that. It would be easier for us to edit our buy/sell list as well. But down side is buyer/seller would have to check on each thread to get the best offer and survey the market price for certain used game

Ok, similar issue on the Nintendo side, you guys want to keep the regular 'trades' thread. That's plenty fine by me(I think other mods would agree), and I never did thought of making do without it smile.gif It's just the typical [WTS]'s type threads that needs to be moved.

So yeah, if you guys want the Pasar Malam, Chamber of Commerce, and Buy/Sell/Rent to stay, it will stay nod.gif

[Added] Regarding Ninja's updating the trades thread, the [Nintendo] Chamber of Commerce has devised a new way of updating the list. Every member may only post once in that thread, and they update it themselves. Thus lessening the load for Ninja.

The Pros using Nintendo subforum methods: Mod no need to maintain the list anymore.

The Cons : It's really REALLY hard to search item to buy. and it kind look messy. At the same time, we dunno which seller has updated it's item

Most of time i use Firefox CTRL+F function to search the item in PS Buy/Sell thread. Easy & effective

oh well..just my thought smile.gif

EDITED: i know there's a search function...but most of people kinda overlook this function especially if someone is new in the thread

these days just too many online shops appear in console couch. imho, some even using fake accounts to bump their thread up!

best is create a subforum inside console couch dedicated to online shops selling console items.

as mentioned earlier moving them into garage sales will definitely bury all of them.

another very important thing, some ppl posted their online shop here in console couch and they are doing the same too in garage sales section. that means here also selling their items and in garage sales also doing the same thing. so everyone that intend to do sales online should only posted at one place.

So hey. I was hoping to hear from shopkeepers about this. you don't have any room to complain otherwise.

Hardly see store owners participating in any form of discussion. From a business point of view it's understandable, but as a member of the forum it's lacking.

You are right, things can get messy with old / inactive lists after some time. That is why I am thinking about restarting the thread every 6 months or so to keep things fresh (I will need some inputs from everyone on this matter).

And about the item search, I will write up something in the guide section to help the forum newbies.
