Shops in the Console Couch, What to do with them?

While originally I did not mind much the posting of Shop Threads in the Console Couch and its sub-forums, it has come to pass that there are more Shop Topics than actual discussions.
Originally, I felt that having the threads there would serve as a good price reference for new buyers.
Some of the moderators have been discussing this and we hope to move all the shops to Garage Sales while still maintaining easy reference and easy access for those who need it.
Several ideas have been put out, but right now we are putting it you the shopkeeps and the regulars here to put forward suggestions as how we may go about this.

I would prefer seeing them in the garage sales section.. too many sales thread here defeat the purpose of this forum. Plus why individual sales thread are not allowed while stores sales thread are?

Maybe the garage sales will have a Console subforum, so easier for ppl to search.

Well, I remember Sihum telling me that me and Aiyish needed rep in Garage Sales to set up a thread here. So, I think it's best to have them revert back to Garage Sales, as the purpose is now defeated already.
I'm not sure how a sticky would work, but I think it's best option for the easy reference.

Nonetheless, having good access to shop threads with pricing would help game buyers here get a good gauge of the market, and make wiser decisions.
That is what i hope to achieve.

I think we have to have a separate sub forum for sellers la..we have nintendo, ps and xbox so one more i think for sellers is ok since easy access and related to console couch. Garage sales to far la...not that easy to go

I did suggested a Sales related subforum in Console couch moons ago, but the reception is cold not much people cares about it http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=759156&hl= Added on September 24, 2008, 12:19 pmhere's my suggestion from the previous thread QUOTE i did thought about a subforum in garage sales section also, but there are mostly buying and selling, whereas here we got all sorts of sales related thread especially buying advices, recommendation and etc
I also proposed one or two special PA threads for coupon sharing, faqs and offers.
for the PA coupon sharing, I was thinking we can do it like Strikebang did. We give out the coupon to a buyer, but the buyer have to click on our affiliate link to buy. Buyer can get discount, and us gets commission from PA, a WIN WIN situation thumbup.gif This post has been edited by greyshadow: Sep 24 2008, 12:19 PM

@ Kyoyagami: Considering I've been gone for awhile, I wasn't around to stop the newer sellers from entering Console Couch. Now that we have over 10+ sellers, and half of them on the 1st page, think it's best we'd consolidate them now.
And regarding PhoenixByte's concern, we'll have a re-direct link in Console Couch straight to Garage Sales/Consoles. Just like in Girls sections where they have a link to the "Stuff for the Ladies".

Dat's a better idea as some ppl doesn't put consoles as the tag when they're selling their console stuff IF dat's implemented, i think searching n buying consoles should be easier

I would suggest to have a Trade/Garage Sales Thread within a sub-forum, for this case under Console Couch.
It'll definitely more effective and more focus for users to make references.
because the Trade Section is simply to large to search for things.

agree with Penman, we better off have our own trade section then being link to garage sales, as i see a lot of console game /hardware being tag as software, jumbo sales or such

Same. I agree with penman. Its either a sub-forum in the console couch or one in the garage sales. I like the idea of it being in the Console Couch better.

Trade sections like the Chamber of Commerce, Xbox Live Pasar Malam, and the Playstation Can't Recall It, will retain it's position because users do 'not' really maintain their postings but rather the TS(plus, we like it). As I've mentioned over the other duplicate thread over in Console Couch, we are proposing that system(as penman put it) Playstation (xx Users) Xbox (xx Users) Nintendo (xx Users) Consoles Retailers & Sellers Garage (xx Users) <- It would most likely be a redirect link, so you'll be redirected to Garage Sales > Console Corner. @ ashchia: That's gonna be a new task for the LYN staff. As the new corner is created, every new thread selling console stuff may have to be moved by hand manually to the new section. @ BerryBiru: It's gonna be a re-direct link. Shouldn't be too hard Or is it?

@ sihumchai, if like that, then we can have our own console section at garage sales, just like other forummer suggest, and a redirect link as you suggest will bring much sense as well A more strict rule can be enforce as well, as in dealer that want to open shop can apply a dealer tag from Mod, Staff, Admin to open a shop at garage sales(just like getting a license to open shop, just to make the forum more saver, and people will not keep asking is this dealer safe to buy thing from him or not) just some suggestion though

Yes, Mud is fond of the new tags to be created when this new section materializes Now we just hope for the best input so we can ensure a safe move, and make sure everyone(users & seller) are aware of what we're doing, and should not disrupt our daily routines here in LYN

i only got one comment, but it won't make me popular with many of the guys here. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « can we stop the blatant advertising of bootleg/downloaded stuff?

I like the idea of having all shops thread in its own subforum, either under Console's Couch or Garage Sales.

I'm fine with Sihum's suggestion. So go for it. bcuz I'm more eager to know when it will be implemented as such.
Also, I do second maddy's suggestion. Disclosing modified items isn't really supposed to happen, but I also understand there are many contradictions to this.
