anybody aware of Google G1 new firmware update? it is called RC33. Yet it's not the "cupcake" release which people hv talked about. Any idea how to get the firmware installed? anyone tried?

Just get my G1, btw, my device is based on RC30 firmware. How to get the new RC33 firmware? any tutorial? how to know that my G1 is rooted or not and what is the benefits if rooted?
