hi, i'm planning to get a G1 in jan before new year, just want to ask is it this phone no video recording ?

i dont know abt n95 batt performance, but G1 batt sux!!

G1 is a power hunger beast, so expecting to charge it every nite if you are a moderate user(20-30 SMS, 30-45 minutes of calls, 2 MMS, 30 minutes of browsing, 2 hours of musiz), but if under heavy usage such as long hour of 3G browsing, Wifi and GPS, can only last for 4-6 hours ^^.

Get yourself a high capacity external batt. It helps.

G1 no video record ? really ? can make video call ?

The mutated droid can't go in the cradle, but the extended battery itself can go in the battery slot to get charged ^^)
I tried to mod the cradle slot space before, no luck, it seems too little space for the extra juice pack to go in.

Ohh! Didn't get a chance to time the WIFI vs extended batt, it's abit hard just let the WIFI on while off others telco mode and surf net to drain the battery . ^^)

But I used to tether with WIFI thru 3G (meaning WIFI at ad hoc mode + 3G internet), it can last more than ~5 hours and left about 15% juices.
Of course, it just a reference and it's subjected to the 3G signal strength and different tether apps (with encryption or without encryption).

One thing for sure, WIFI tether will get G1 heated up much faster than bluetooth tether. The former not recommended for pro-long usage.
