QUOTE(unknowndevices @ Nov 16 2008, 11:52 AM) got any place to test out this model?... Yes I have. I have to say this phone is really not photogenic! The actual phone itself looks quite good actually, much nicer and sleeker than the photos on the net. of course it's bulkier than the iphone because there's a keyboard mar...i still prefer a physical keyboard. have you tried playing this phone?...any feedbacks to share?... The OS is really great, very responsive. I love the integration with IM, Gmail in the notification bar. Web browsing, while not multi-touch like iphone, is still great. The screen is crisp. The thing with this is, you will need 3G connectivity to fully utilise this phone! Planning to get it..it's £99 for the handset, on 12 months contract for £30 (inclusive of unlimited 3G Internet). |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Finally jumped onto the Android ship. Am loving the phone to bits, best phone I've had so far. The cons, the battery life is really really poor. This is mainly due to always-on 3G connection. Can be turned off though, but I really love the Gmail notification, Gtalk notification, esp when I'm at work where access to these are not allowed. Web-browsing, the iphone definitely trumps this as this device hasn't got multitouch. But having said that I still love this Browser included here. The handset is really nicer than pictured. You'll have to hold one to believe. Swapping applications is a breeze - no lag at all. Music player is basic, but still good. Lots of 3rd party app available, and free games! For RM2.4k, I think it's quite worth it! I paid more as I am with a contract. But got unlimited 3G so that's really cool. There you go! I'm so glad Android-powered G1 is now available... anything but an Iphone! |

Just received my RC9 yesterday when I noticed my Favourite tab in my Dialer application, where I can put a Star against my Fav numbers. Nice! Also Android market is no longer beta.
Really sakit hati when saw the new Magic. Sooo nice la... Added on March 10, 2009, 10:41 pmBtw, which is the best unlimited 3G package? This phone without unlimited 3G is quite useless IMO... This post has been edited by Savlon: Mar 10 2009, 10:41 PM |

The only bit i hate about the UK version is that I dun have MSN / YM in my IM applications. And meebo is still not that polished yet!
Magic does look sleeker IMO...and still has the Android sweetness! Love android...now if only they have more integrated Google applications on the phone. grazy, how much are u paying for the data plan? This post has been edited by Savlon: Mar 11 2009, 12:26 AM |

Google Navigation hacked onto T-Mobile G1 by Thomas Ricker posted Nov 11th 2009 at 2:01AM It's always a good sign when a device-specific product release becomes the focal point of the XDA development community: it means you've got a winner on your hands. Not that anyone ever doubted the intense demand for Google's new turn-by-turn Navigation introduced exclusively on Motorola's DROID. No more. Brave souls have now tweaked the original code to run on the original Android device, the HTC G1 running on T-Mobile. Anecdotal reports suggest that it's working great -- a good sign that we'll see a cooked ROM unveiled just as soon as feverish fingers can package the new code. |

QUOTE(hengsin @ Nov 25 2009, 01:26 AM) If you want, you can try it here using the hack version from xda ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...5&postcount=327 ) Yeah, I got this working on my unroot G1.This app is truly amazing! Really works leh...I think Garmin and TomTom can close shop soon... Only drawback is, this Google Navigation will work within 3G coverage areas. |
