i wonder how the feel of typing on the slide keyboard, looks kinda awkward. how the ergonomics will be.

but yeah the android looks kinda tempting though.

1. it's not real-time street view. it's real street view but not displayed in real time. just like google maps.
2. not all areas are covered with street view. and it's still not that extensive even in US. but it's still expanding as for now, but still the countries that got street view is not that much. u can check the areas included from Areas Included on this wiki,

u can always see for yourself the Google Steet View either on Google Earth or Google Maps here

for me, street view is very cool but more like a novelty that is not so useful. anyway it's an uber cool feature.

looks like it should beat WinMob hands down. from the demo it should be a very solid OS for mobile use, backed by the Android community, stable operation, feature packed, and the hardware itself is a powerhouse. only the phone design is kinda awkward.
so yup, the android is kinda impressive, and it should be hundred times better than WinMob excluding some functions still missing on it like Exchange syncing. but being as an open source platform and backed by the community, looks like any shortcomings can be easily rectified either on next update or third party.
a very promising platform, but still early to decide whether it will be a successful platform or not. aside from that, the T-Mobile G1 looks ugly.

yup surely it's contract price.
looks like the multitouch technology is proprietary feature of Apple mobile platform.
if the G1 got multitouch then it doesn't need the zoom icons in the internet browser.
correct me if i'm wrong.

yup, an in the end looks like it is not that 'open' afterall. also, the apps should only be distributed through the exclusive channel (correct me if i'm wrong)

and if they r really 'open' and users can easily tweak the software stack, it's irrelevant to have some unit that got telco lock.
so actually it's not that 'open' afterall. it's 'open' only for developers and manufacturers, but not to the consumers.

geeks love it bcoz of the only one word they love : Linux.

btw, Android got lots of potential. the preorder of G1 alone is around 1.5 million unit, so looks like it got a very bright future. but not as an 'open' platform.

yeah beauty is on the eye of beholder
but the concept of design really hard to chew. only can say that the keyboard is made with much thought given onto it, but not the phone design itself.
myb to cut cost
but the phone design is ok for teenager or geeks. most of them will put stickers around (for them it's cool).

so need to apply to be Android Developer (with $25 fee), and then can get developer version of G1 (unlocked bootloader).

yeah this should be intended to be developer's phone, but why not right? plus with the custom back.

yup, that should be the price for developer account (hence u can only buy 1 per developer account).
currently the contract ones from T-Mobile is $179 (locked).

yup, the dev version looks kinda cool.
and it's an added bonus for people that wanna develop software on android platform.
