QUOTE(grazy @ Jun 22 2009, 05:43 PM) Should be ok, just need a downgrade before getting rooted. Pick some reading here. yea, been thinkin twice whether shud root or not...As usual, make sure you know the risk of rooting your droid. btw, i really like this phone compared to WM devices and iPhone... in G1, u really can have something similiar to iphone feaure...yet iphone doesn't have keyboard |

QUOTE(dartl @ June 23, 2009, 11:17 am) Do you mean, we will void the warranty of the phone or brick it? As far as I know that HTC Dream are not officially launch in malaysia...... those G1 more likely an AP set T-mobile G1.......so our G1 warranty covered by AP supplier not HTC........As far as I know, our HTC Dreams bought in M'sia has no warranty except from the shop right? And if we do brick the phone, isn't there a way to flash hard-reset it? |

QUOTE(grazy @ Sep 5 2009, 09:44 AM) Lek is right, G1 got GPS just the proper navigation system such as Garmin is not there yet. that is wrong answer!!! Still need Google Maps to navigate. ^^ there's Android base GPS software already available...exactly same like Garmin or MapKing point to point direction marvellous, GPS lockdown very fast indeed.....more faster compared to WinMo based devices. QUOTE(kazasho @ Sep 5 2009, 09:54 AM) Meaning we still can navigate using Google Maps eh? To access google maps, do we need to use telco charges? Can we dl offline google maps? Offline google maps u wont be able access to map.....U have to get connectivity to access google maps for navigation either GPS,WiFi or data line. QUOTE(Drunken_Master @ Sep 23 2009, 09:29 AM) hi guys, G1 currently only available through AP set.....Just want to check, is it worth it to get a G1 without any Sis warranty?? My bro's using htc and dopod, and both have motherboard problem. Worried that same thing will happen with the G1, and if got no warranty...... HTC/SiS won't bringing G1 into our country for sure. for sure AP set does have warranty only provide by local distro company. better get USED G1 or Latest HTC Hero(SiS set) |

QUOTE(jags @ Oct 12 2009, 05:04 PM) thanks for the short review Chris. Agreed, not really keen on the 5800 anymore after trying it out in real life. WTF was nokia thinking! Really horrible build quality. video playback performance G1 is smooth & quality even par up to Iphone video playback performance too.BTW how's the video playback performance of the G1? Is it smooth? I have also been doing some reading, and it seems that the G1 can't play divx/xvid encoded videos. Or can it? G1 support high quality video playback encode with H.264 on MP4 format. divx/xvid MP4 encode are not supported on G1 devices. |
