You are right, right now even though we can install those paid apps but will have big trouble when come to updates from the Market.

Unless the developers offer other channel of selling their apps and keep the their apps update by it own rather than depend on the Market.

Hopefully we will get the paid apps through the official Market....soon blush.gif

If any Digi user got problem setting up mms in, this is the setting:

APN : digimms
Username & Password : mms
MMSC : mms.digi.com.my/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy : 203.92.128.160
MMS Port : 80
MCC : 502
MNC : 16

If you only want to use the mms and not the EDGE, then you can create new APN and key in this info;then u can delete your old APN. If u wanna use both then just merge this setting to your old APN. smile.gif

Thanks grazy for your help in setting up the mms. By the way have you solved the qweky sound from your G1 coz unfortunately now my G1 have started giving the sound as well. Hope you can let me know how to stop the sound if you have found the way. Thanks in advance. biggrin.gif

I wanna ask fellow G1 users if you guys have tried the Invisible Shield from US. I'm thinking of buying one for my phone. My G1 already have a screen protector but I'm looking to protect my whole phone from scratches but I don't like the bulky protectors.

^^; u are most welcome and thanks for putting this up, definitely beneficial to future G1 DIGI users.

Yah, regarding the squeky sound, almost forgot to put this up here. For more info you may follow this thread here. There are few methods, some quite intrusive (permanent shaving) however some quite easy to follow also (involve patching only).

The following hack is the most comfortable to me as I just mounted a tiny piece of the soft-side velcro on the side near SDcard cap whistling.gif

Happy hacking to better G1!!

Oh....jorry jorry typo error, it should be velcro.

The author of the youtube is using felt, some kind of craft cloth like this: user posted image

Which i think quite thick & hard to trim, and you have to apply glue on it in order to mount. Messy leh!

the velcro I'm talking about is something like this :user posted image

We can get the sticky velcro easily from the craft shop or ACE hardware.
Use the loops (soft-side), you may also trim those loops to ur liking ^^

Yah-rei...yah-rei.... some leisure review reading on Singapore HTC Dream (Singtel Unit).

I noticed that the qwerty keyboard color is in blue color.
The 'HTC' wordings rather than our 'T-Mobile' near the speaker. Wonder why not 'Singtel" eh??
The whole qwerty keyboard is glossy type.
Ha..ha...and the front panel 4-buttons are in the same color neh (light blue) ^^;

HardwareZone rated it 4 out of 5 stars blush.gif

Harlo! Think the RC33 have been pushed to G1 owner quite some while ago thru over the air (OTA) - actually from Google.

You should have received it by now wor. ^^;

And about the cupcake, we all are still waiting patiently sad.gif It has been delayed much longer than we thought.
There are some unofficial way to port the 'pre-cupcake' but really really not advisable unless you know what you are doing, generally the pre-cupcake is not sweet (stable) enough and very lacks of ingredients (apps) such as IM, gmail, maps and etc.

By the way, if your G1 still have not receive the RC33 update, let us know here. We could help!! cool2.gif

Ha..ha... Then no worries! You will receive RC33 by tomolo or in these few days ^^, try to reboot your G1 few times to speed up the update delivery.

Now all the new G1 is un-rooted by default, they are come with either RC30 or RC33 ( the latest).

With rooted G1 you may do quite a number of stunts such as :

-install a full Linux distribution, like Debian.
-run applications that require root, like Screenshot and Auto Rotate your Browser and or any other application.
-install the latest Android build directly from the Android source tree. Such as the "pre-cupcake"
-customize your boot image.
-create full backups of the state of your phone.
-create custom ROMs.
-install Applications to your SD Card to save space.
-use your phone as a tether to connect your computer/laptop to the internet.
-turn your phone into a wireless router that provides internet access. (my favorite feature biggrin.gif )
-you can install Theme.
-enable auto-rotate
-kill running apps, services
-remove unwanted apps such as Amazon MP3
-move caches to SDcard to save system memory/ram (this too!! tongue.gif )

Welcome Aboard, Androidian ^^;
