QUOTE(grazy @ May 27 2009, 07:09 PM) Hmm... seems like it took about 2-3 minutes to download the 37+mb Cupcake. Pretty fast eh. i am thinking of that too cause when updating the cupcake in my opis and my opis has a bad reception most of the time... somehow could we reinstall the cupcake??If not mistaken, Schroddy_Cat also got the update and download less than 5 minutes over WIFI. But his problem is no signal with the cupcake even after a factory reset. It looks like the update package is corrupted during downloading (suspecting only)....Guys make sure you got strong signal (wifi/3g) before performing the OTA update. |

QUOTE(grazy @ May 28 2009, 08:09 PM) Ok guys, for those who are having problem with their OTA Cupcake, and would like to update it manually again, you may try these steps: first of all thx for the info....btw how could we need to downgrade to RC33 or lower since ours 1 might have corrupted cupcake?? do we nid to do so?1) Download the OTA file from here (should be the first one) 2) Make sure u download it correctly, double check the size of the file. 3) Then follow the steps on this page (those images are for RC33, but should be similar for CRB43) Disclaimer: I take no responsibility on the outcome from these steps, but if you already frustrated with your droid why not teach him a lesson Do whatever backup you can/want before proceed ya!!.....and sufficient battery juices!! ---------------------- PS: this is for non-rooted droid with original T-Mobile OTA RC33 or lower. |

QUOTE(grazy @ Jun 8 2009, 06:14 AM) Congrats... ^^ haha... You may look at the: Menu--> settings--> About phone-->scroll to the end --> what's ya Kernel Ver & Build Number? Mine Hybrido is currently with Dude HTC Dream version + kernel 2.6.27.24 under toxygene. JF only mod the official Cupcake from T-mobile/HTC. HayKuro (was) doing the Sapphire/Magic/Hero ported to G1/Dream The Dude is enhancing the 1.5 version, hybriding those available roms out there. If you done with JF version, I may suggest you to try out the Google Ion rom from Haykuro.... it's just Too Fast Too Furious Ha..ha...at least you are not on the darkside, we need to keep the force in balance. |

QUOTE(grazy @ Jun 8 2009, 01:33 PM) I'm using Dude1.3beta7 now. 2 units of G1?? Will test out Hero when my droid is ready for it ^^0 OMG, the official price is a killing! With 2.7k, I would rather go for two unit of G1, or maybe try out N97 since its almost a perfection. Seriously, If I want to go for the Magic, patience is a virtue!! ---------------------------- Think G1/HTC Magic users by now should notice that you can see paid apps in the Market ^^; N97 is my target now |

QUOTE(davidmak @ Jun 8 2009, 12:52 PM) Which ROM are you using? Hero? Oic, so fast they launch it here ah.. maybe wanna seduce iphone 4g future ownersYes, check LYN front page. It was launched over the weekend at Zouk and at a price of RM2699 (too expensive). So this is official and no more T-Mobile stuff. QUOTE(davidmak @ Jun 8 2009, 10:07 PM) Frankly speaking if want to go Magic might as well keep the G1 and get the upcoming iPhone. More things to play! Going for magic was not my option just bcause it doesn't. Have qwerty nor keypad.... virtual keyboard for me still not as umph as the real thing... QUOTE(lost123 @ Jun 8 2009, 11:12 PM) hey i ask u guys arrr.. are the free apps now useful??? are there any nice free apps??? coz since we cant get any paid apps here.. Except for many free apps inclusive of useful and nonsense 1, the other 2 things are quite common for mobile phone now...ive been wanting to get the G1 for damn long already, but now im juz wonderin whether i shud juz get a windows mob fone.. coz i actually want the fone for 3 things 1. WiFi 2.games 3.applications |

QUOTE(davidmak @ Jun 9 2009, 10:43 AM) Yes same here. Which is why I like phones like the Palm Pre and Touch Pro2. Too bad Palm Pre isn't a world phone (its currently non-GSM). I always had the impression that physical keyboard is the greatest thing until I typed on iPhone/iTouch OS's virtual keyboard. Virtual keyboard still hold its place I guess. Of course WM's default virtual keyboard is a joke hahahaha! iphone virtual keypad is it really that good?? i always feel that apple's stuff are overprice touch pro 2 looks interesting but wm is a turn down for me |

QUOTE(naTTan @ Jun 13 2009, 04:44 PM) I just notice that celcom is bringing in the HTC magic not sure which model though since there is i thought it was sold at RM2699?? summore got 2 spec to choose ah?? if the G2 got qwerty, then it will be more merrier..The 192 mb ram and 266 mb ram right? But the phone looks sleek and the price is 1999 for the phone with 2 packages offered rm 50 comitment and 98 unlimited. 300 deposit. Since they already able to root it, i wonder if people are going to buy it? Rm 1999 for the phone with a contract seems pricey though. But way cheaper then iphone though. QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Jun 14 2009, 06:10 AM) Just browse thru the HTC Magic...Sigh, no flash for camera and no keyboard... Thought i can finally get rid of my 838pro... Damn you WM. Actually a lot of down side for HTC Lancester also, read some reviews from other web links... |

QUOTE(grazy @ Jun 15 2009, 12:43 PM) HTC Ori should able to be rooted by now, but just have to pay some attention of the models. (or should i call it sub models). ya lor... dunno why the heck they downsize the screen size Wonder why the heck HTC want to maintain few different (sub) models... ^^ I like the big trackball... just the screen abit too small for such a good device... should put in 3.5 at least hor?! QUOTE(naTTan @ Jun 15 2009, 02:23 PM) I double check the price it's rm 1999, and they offered to packages to me, my current maxis package, which is rm 50 for calls and 98 for unlimited data. or you can take the 250 one. celcome package is definately better than maxis.... RM 1999 for a smartphone like this seems ok to me. so r u going for MAGICal moment?? |
