Anyway, I've been feeding my hamsters Prestige, Nezu's Smoothie and vegetable supplement for about one month, so i would like to share my experience here !

Introducing Yuan Yuan !!

When she 1st came she was very scrawny with little fur and very timid. Now shes chubbier, healthier and her disposition is friendlier because i bully her everyday~~

My two boys and another female called Scimi (sorta a shortform for monkey in Italian, well... shortened by me la) are also growing fat fat and happy haha.

(I got 4 hamsters, all WW)

Kudo's to Nezu for a great product notworthy.gif

Icednyior, I'm hoping it works but getting a chew toy for your hamster may not get rid of the incessant chewing it's doing. Like I say, Roche chews but Ferro doesn't. So I usually switch their chew toys every week to make them curious. biggrin.gif It's funny when they look at something that's the same but doesn't feel the same.

I think clumping litter, if eaten by a hamster, may start clumping in the stomach and cause impaction or something.

Jamien, someone sold me clumping litter sand as bath sand. It took me months to realise that because I have never owned cats before.

And Jovyn...I won't recommend anything with cotton for hamster as the fibers might get tangled around their feet or get tangled inside their intestines.
*
thx for the advice.... notworthy.gif i will pick up the clump sand n remove the cotton edi... sweat.gif
we jus bought 1 packet of britter bunny...hopefully my hamster will love it... laugh.gif

Britter Bunny is actually rabbit food. So I don't think you should just feed it alone for your hamster. That why it was recommended to mix it with Prestige.

QUOTE(jovyn @ Oct 11 2008, 07:35 AM)
but another question....about toilet sand (im using the commend japan brand 650g sand)...if clumping mean no good for the hamster is it? they will eat it ah? icon_question.gif
*
Clumping sand.... it contain this clumping chemicals, if hamster sleep or sit on the sand. later they groom themselve, they will like the chemical which stick on their fur. the chemical may clump inside their kidney.

QUOTE(IcedNyior @ Oct 11 2008, 09:43 AM)
i just bought mine and I think its clumping (im not sure how clumping looks like). cant go change la, i buy oredi. will get non-clumping once this one finishes
*
if u put a drop of water. then sand will roll into a ball. that is clumping

no i canot only feed britter bunny. we only need the beta carotene and biotin in the britter bunny. so only 1/4 pack of britter bunny can be mix in 1 pack of prestige or others mix (800gm-1kg).

im not sure if this is normal.. i give a couple of brocoli n white eggs to my robo and leave it for 24 hours..
only little are taken... does it mean that he does not like it or does it mean that robo only needs little of those?
*
It's normal that hamsters don't finish their food.. Don't leave the food there for a long period of time as the food will turn bad.. If they never finish their food, throw away the next morning.. smile.gif

If there's too many sunflower seeds in his diet, take out some.. Sunflower seeds are very fattening and can cause lots of problems later.. May I know what brand of food you are feeding now?

take out the sunflower seeds. He/she (i forgot what sex your hamster is) will be forced to eat the other foods. then later slowly put in the sunflower seeds bit by bit. Thats what I did for my Kiki. The petstore only gave it to eat kuaci. When i fed it harry hamster, it didnt eat anything else.

im not asking whether is it normal if the food is not finished... im asking how much does normally hamster like robo eat vege like broccoli..
*
robos generally eat less i think.. u see how much ur robo eats the vege, then give that amount everytime, so that wont waste the vege.. coz the hamster still has other food to eat (like staple food, smoothie) so u dont have to give too much of a type.. give more variety of food in small amounts.. robos on average roughly eat 1 tablespoon of food per day, so u just estimate how much of each type of food to give.. dont forget other nutrients as well like protein etc..

robos, being the smallest of dwarves, of course eat the least lo. They, like any other living being, eat the food they prefer first, so you just adjust lor. My robos could eat 1 whole piece of dark leafy greens each la.

BTW i don't recommend feeding brocolli. They will produce a lot of gas in the stomach.
