ic ic ..currently i'm housing them in a steel cage instead of fish tank one...it's ok if i put a piece of clean towel since i sleep with lights on, and don't want them to be disturb with bright light...

sorry for asking so many question, i am pretty new at this and quite concern bout both of them, not just because their cute but i guess i always have heart for animals...so i would love to be responsible owner....

is it necessary to toilet train them? i have bought the bathing sand and stuart just love to roll in them...i found in some of the post here that syrian do not roll in the sand....will update their pictures tonite...hope will identify whether they're syrian or not...

on the other hand i found mischka to sleep and eat a lot..she only plays around 7pm to midnight and early morning around 6am to 8am...is this a normal behaviour?

how show i properly introduce with fresh foods/smoothies..which fresh vege/fruit should i start first?

if let say hammies falls sick (touch wood)...which clinic is best to attend to such matter?any recommendations?

i really appreciate your guidance...this thread does help me a lot to understand my hammies..

p/s : i found stuarts loves when he out of the cages...he like to venture a lot!! mischka on the other hand is a bit shy i guess...

Eh... It looks like robos.

Please separate anyway. 1 cage 1 sex ok? smile.gif Robos do very well in single sex cages, just as long as they have a companion.

And your balding robo is looking qquite... unnatural. What dry food are you feeding her?

hello there ann wave.gif welcome to the thread. Even if they aren't hamsters, you have to seperate them because you bought different sex hamsters and they will mate non stop. About what fresh foods to feed, the first few posts has a list of vege/fruits that are appropriate. since stuart loves to venture around, u might want to get a wheel and let him explore the whole place without u hving to worry he'll get lost or squeeze himself somewhere.

oh yea, im also very impressed that you can hold them on your lap without them nipping you considering u got them from carrefour

Syrians are very easy to toilet train. Use non-clumping cat litter as their toilet sand. If they poo around the tank, pick the poo up and place it in the toilet sand. You can also pick up those bedding with urine on it and place it together with the poo. That's how you toilet train them smile.gif Syrians do not use bathing sand, they'll groom themselves with saliva.

Hamsters are nocturnal, which means they sleep during the day and active during the night. So it's normal for them to be playing around at night till the next morning. If you are planning to give them fresh fruits and vege, start with a small portion will do. Excess fruits and vege can cause diarrhea. Refer to the first page for more information about fruits and vege safe for your hamster's consumption. You can ask anything you don't understand here and we'll try our best to help you smile.gif Everyone is learning here and don't be shy to ask. blush.gif

I think I may want to get a Winter White. Their bodies are so cute it's like moving marshmallows! xD

Btw, went to Pet Lover's centre in Sunway Pyramid today. So far I've been to that one eversince my growing interest in keeping small animals. They sell Winter 'Normal' and Winter 'Golden'. And they fetch a price of about 23 bucks each. Is that the average price for a WW?

stuart enjoys the bathing sand...i just dunno why...he loves rolling like a cat..should i worry?
