i jus sand bath with my hamster... erm, i think they dunno how to roll them self...sweat.gif so i use small spoon, scope n pour d sand on their body...is ok right? (kena thier eye n ear abit, coz they wanted to escape doh.gif)

btw, do u guys put the toilet sand and bathing sand inside the cage or seperately?
*
careful about their eyes, cos the eyes are very sensitive.. when kena the bath sand their eyes will be reddish & watery.. try pour on them when they're not moving so much (eg. when they stop to groom themselves)..

To toilet train, you have to collect their poo, and the bedding which they pee on and put into the place you designated as the toilet, the hamster will then think that is his spot to do business and just continue doing his business there, some might not get it the first time, you just have to keep doing it. You don't really have to get the extension just for the toilet an simple clay bowl would suffice. Toilet sand is any non-clumping sand, you can even use cat litter as long as it is non-clumping.

Note that only one Syrian is to be put in the same place as they are very territorial and will fight to their death.

OOT oops.gif Actually any commercialize pet-food is not really good. Like Friskies and Whiskas for cats. People just buy them coz they think they're cheaper, which they are, just not in a long term.

Syrians will groom themselves with saliva.. They'll keep themselves clean always.. For the price of Harry Hamster and Breeder Celect, you can refer to www.petshack.com.my.. The prices are stated there. As for the hamster's breed, just go google and type their name, Syrian Hamster, Roborovski, Winter White etc.. You can see the picture of every breed there..

That's grooming, not scratching. Sand bath won't stop them from doing that, it only helps to remove excess oil on their fur so that their fur looks nicer. The 'scratching' action that you saw will not stop as this is their instinct to do that. They only stop doing that when they stop breathing or they are very ill. So, no need to worry and think of other ways to stop them from doing that.

Nope, as it contains lots of Kuachi and corn. Recommended brands are Harry Hamster and Prestige. I'm using Harry Hamster, Aloe loves the groundnuts inside them. smile.gif
