regarding the size of the testes, i agree that it is normal for them to be big in size.....
but how about the 'watery' part? normal oso?

Here I'm talking about 8" wheel for syrians.

For Wodent wheel feature a unique design with a safe solid running surface and a support stand without dangerous pinch areas. The semi-enclosed design and the solid rear wall also makes rodents, who are natural "wall-huggers," feel much safer as they run. That's why they like to pee and sleep inside the wheel.

For Silent Wheel (Sanko wheel), it is like normal wheel but in good quality. Can be clean easily but there's a space and stand behind the wheel for them to climb on and trying to escape from there in the tank.

Both of the price are not much different. We have 3 Wodent wheel and 3 Sanko Silent wheel right now. Sometimes will exchange their wheel when they get bored and get smarter.

Yes, syrians also will do that cos they feel comfortable with the wheel. Honestly, Sanko wheel is easier to clean as it is in one piece, you only can dissemble it with the stand and the wheel. For Wodent wheel, you can dissemble it into pieces. If part of it broken or spoiled, you can just replace that part and you also can choose your own color for it. For me, if your hamster is not a good biter, your wheel can last you very long time.

The pin can be easily replaced with a paper clip. The other parts you have to worry about.

Just want to share something...

I went to Pet Safari at Ikano 2 months ago. U know that corner that sell hamsters in Pet Safari? That Corner does not owned by Pet Safari..
Anyway, when i was there, i was to buy beddings and check out the cute hamsters. Then i saw ONE particular hammie isn't moving. So i stood there and observe.
After few minutes, I realized that hammie is actually dead. And no one knows cos too many hamsters in a tank.

So i walked to the shopkeeper (assuming is the son in his college age), i told him one of the hamsters is dead. So he took newspaper and picked it up.
I continue looking at them. Cos they're not given enough food. After a few seconds, i found something. I hesitated and doubt. Could it be? Could it be not? I saw something flat like a hard paper. I look closer.

OMG!! OMG!!!  ohmy.gif  Another dead hamster! But this one, died longer cos it's FLAT already. I ran to that guy and told him another dead one. Flat and left back the kulit. U know what? The idiot and his mother laughed, "More dead hamsters? What? Left back skin? Hahaha..." I got so angry vmad.gif  mad.gif  vmad.gif . How can you laughed like that. I feel like slapping him.

So he picked it up. Meanwhile, i check other tanks to see if there are more dead hamsters. True enough, we found another TWO. So in total, there are FOUR dead hamsters in the tanks and no one notice. How cruel!!! I love hamsters and i had many hamsters before. Looking at how they treat the hamsters, i feel like buying all of them and bring them home. cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif

Then, we walked into the corner. Mom was checking out the iguanas. Then she told me she saw one interesting iguana that look like got lipstick on. Red lips. I was curious and looked at it. OMG!!! OMG!!!  shocking.gif  All iguanas in the shop are injured. They are not wearing lipsticks. Their lips were injured. No more lips. Can see teeth. And bleeding. Can see blood on the tank's wall. I felt so disappointed and disgusted by the shop owner and i walk off.

*
OMG!!! OMG!!! how cruel and horrible... someone should report that shop to some animal protection centre or something... shouldn't there be some sort of standards that pet shops should adhere to??? mad.gif vmad.gif

Malaysia don't have good standards yet, basically.

By the way I noticed a pimple like thing around Bean's nose, on the left. Zomg I am so worried that it's a tumour! I tried to snap picture but really cannot snap because she kept showing her right side, the OK side >_<

Quite hard to handle her also, she'll nip nip nip nip. nipping more than ever now.

I just brought back my hammy on 27th Nov and it was born on the 1st. I've a few questions:

When should I start hand taming it? It only lets me pet it at the moment, cannot lift. =/ I'm afraid it might bite.

How old does a syrian stop growing bigger? I'm now feeding it Prestige and Nutri-Smoothie, is it enough? I'm also unsure about the portions.

I'm a total beginner although I've been reading up articles online. tongue.gif

I come bearing very sad news.

Over the past few days she was less and less active...we understood she was old (nearing three years old) so less activity is expected

Earlier today there was nothing particularly wrong, but when I returned home about 11 p.m I noticed a lot of blood in her bath sand. Her hind is also bloody and there were some blood stains in the beddings too. She was inactive and didn't nip us much.

Seeing how much blood was lost, we do not think she will make it through the night sad.gif
