Unless its more than RM500, but usually the seller will mark it for less than that or you can just tell them to.

You will receive an orange card from Pos Malaysia. Check your mail box after 2 weeks. Once you get the card, you just go to post office take your package.

Usually the seller will post the package with a CN22 customs declaration. You need not to worry about this.

Method 1:
You can just buy a virtual credit card from 7eleven or buy it from lelong.com.my. Use that information to register an eBay account. You must also buy one more virtual credit card to activate your PayPal account because this is eBay requirement. Once you registered and verified your PayPal with the virtual credit card, please send email to the seller immediately, he will tell you the confirmation number.
If you want to add credit to your PayPal, you can just find a lelong seller who are selling PayPal money.

I can recommend you these two sellers in Lelong. They are trustful and reliable because they are my previous dealers.
lessfuct <-- Virtual Credit Card seller. He is very friendly and nice communication. (I bought 2 VCC from him before)
longic <-- You can sms him once you transfered money to his Maybank account. He will respond you by SMS later if the PayPal amount transfered into your PayPal account. (I bought from him USD100 for RM320 before)

Method 2 (Skip this for Credit Card holder):
Solution 2 is apply a credit card. If you are a student, you can just apply Public Bank Visa Electron. Just visit http://www.pbebank.com, click on "Card" button, then click on "Debit Card Application". Choose "PB Visa Electron". After you submit the application, print it out then get urself a photostated IC. Then deliver to Public Bank headquarter. 1-2 weeks later you will receive a letter, I recommend you bank-in RM50 your the card number because you extra money to activate PayPal account later. After you go to Public Bank deposit the money, go to bank staff counter, ask the guy to help you register an internet account. He will give you a letter and tell you to wait until 7pm, then you just visit http://www.pbebank.com. Click on "login" button insert the PIN given by the letter.

About 1 week later, you will receive a PosLaju from "PPB". The debit card is inside that letter. If you not at home, the PosLaju guy will stick a notice on your house fence. Then you wait until next day, just head for PosLaju office get the letter.
Use that card to register eBay and PayPal accounts. For PayPal, you need to wait 3 days to allow the confirmation number go into your statement. You can check your statement by login to http:/www.pbebank.com anytime.

You no need to add credit to PayPal if you want buy goods from eBay. You just head for Public Bank Cash Deposit machine. Don't insert your PB Visa Electron card into the machine. Once you in front the cash deposit machine, press any button on the machine. Then choose "Credit Card Payment". Insert your card number then press "ENTER". Later confirm your card name holder. Wait until the "door" is open, put your cash into the machine then press "Continue". Wait and get the receipt.

Go back home and buy goods from eBay, thats all. You money will automatic transfer to PayPal then retransfer to the seller.

Credit card holders, you are more convenient to register your eBay and PayPal account. I think I no need to explain.

Normally there's three shipping option for US shipping..USPS First Class Mail International( 2 - 4 weeks), USPS Global Priority Mail (5 - 8 days), and USPS Global Express Mail (1-3 days). Please take not that the delivery time varies but that's what I can roughly say base on my past experience dealing with US seller on ebay. Before First Class Mail is the cheapest but since the increase in fuel price it cost nearly the same as Priority Mail so now most US seller opt for that method instead. Express Mail is the most expensive but they got tracking and takes about 1-3 days to arrive depending on customs here.

As soon as your item pass through customs without trouble the post office will deliver the stuff to your doorstep. Depending on the shipping method you choose if you use First Class Mail it will be delivered as normal parcel. Where as if you ship via Priority Mail the postman will usually need your signature when delivering your item so if you are not at home they will leave something like a notification card for you with details on where to pick your stuff at your nearest post office. And if you ship via Express Mail...the item will be delivered by the poslaju guys. Hope this help. smile.gif

junclj, thanks for detailed explanation! I've been wondering about this PBB Visa Electron thing and PayPal.

Been trying to figure which one to do, ie buy VCC or get a PBB Visa Electron and I saw this thread. You've answered all my questions in one post!

I'm so lazy, so I'm gonna go for Method 1!

ps. I especially like this part "The debit card is inside that letter. If you not at home, the PosLaju guy will stick a notice on your house fence. Then you wait until next day, just head for PosLaju office get the letter."

I so LOL'ed when I read that, we Malaysians sooo love to be spoon fed!

Thanks again!

Computer accessories are tax-free, but do take extra care in speakers, electrical components, and cables (e.g. power supply unit). Custom officers may not know much about computer stuffs and will treat it as general electrical components & cables which may subject to tax.

Is that the United States Post Service Priority Mail International will guarantee arrive 6-10 days? Will the postman take the parcel to my house or just directly drop notice card to my house mail box? I am so worry about this because last night I just purchase an used Intel processor and request the seller change another postal service. Later he say FedEx is too expensive - USD103. Then finally I choose another option, USPS Priority Mail International which about USD36.

I am not worry about the money, he really did respond and negotiate with me. I am just worry about the arrival period before I leave for holidays. I just wait for maximum 15 days start from today. The flight ticket already booked for 23 November 2008. After that I will leave for holidays. Maybe go travelling or back to my hometown. If it still not arrive, I will be frustrated.

Overseas shipping even USPS cannot gurantee that the delivery will arrive at fix period. But normally they do not have problems reaching Malaysia...the problems is when the stuff reach customs here. If customs are quick and did not held your item you should be able to get your item within 2 weeks. If I am not mistaken Priority shipping need signature or if you are not at home the postman will leave a pink card telling you to pick up your parcel at the nearest post office.

What about a normal package delivered by USPS first class mail? Will the postman leave a card if I'm not home? Or just stuff the item into my letterbox?

Hi Guys...
Nice feedback about USPS...im really new and just purchased a wireless microphone system for my bagpipe. It was cheap on ebay abt 330USD inclusive express mail international via USPS. I really need this item before next friday on 25th July by any chance i can get it before that time?
As you said earlier express mail take 3 days to get to malaysian customs..can i like call them up and collect it if its held by customs?

And another thing would there be any tax? on my item as its used for music instrument? A little worried of getting this item late...as have a show next weekend in spore and i need this mic.
