Been using it for few hrs ... So far so good. The interface look a lil weird in the beginning but its kinda awesome once u get use to it

Your build is of the M1 leaked version that has less features. The one TS has and the one I showed at the WLM thread is newer and has more features.

If you chat with someone, their color scheme will be applied the the conversation window.

So now I can hear a distinct Signature sound when my friends come online? Like a sound wave saying "xxxx is now online"?

If your friend has WLM9 and configure Signature Sound with their own audio file, then yes you can.

I've been using this for several days already, plus I already have some ideas on how WLM9 will look like from reading the likes of mess.be and liveside.net.

Yes, same version must be used. If you chat with my secondary MSN account as shown on the screenshot above, you will see the Haruhi Suzumiya theme I set on my Messenger on your chat window and I will see whatever theme you set for your Messenger in my chat window.

i tot the color scheme can only be seen by me. im talking about the default color setting wor? just the color of the MSN window.

I use the WLM 2009 version.0.14.1407

Which is older but i still like to use this..

I've used the 14.0 build but felt woerd and miss my theme.. So switched back. Felt more at home. XD

Well, when WLM9 went gold and everyone has it, that will not be the case anymore. If I have WLM9 and I chat with someone who still use WLM8.5 (or Yahoo Messenger), you will see the default unthemed WLM9 window.

errr...messenger plus is not compatible with this version as well

I found some good explanation and detail outline of the feature that build in the new WLM2009.

The sites / blog inside have a video demostration of the visual features.
For the Windows Live Messenger top-theme, which can change by using drag and drop a picture to there.

Furthermore, they is another thing you guys might realize.
In v8.5, we change the theme color to black then our conversation box will turn black as well.
But in this version 2009, even we changed the main theme ~ our conversation box are not changing.

Actually this is not a bug!!! This is a new feature.
Why not changing? because the conversation box shown the contact's theme instead of our own.

Let said i'm using "baby" theme and my friend Ken using "mummy" theme!
The time i chat with him, the conversation box shown HIS "mummy" theme to me.
I feel this multimedia-interaction is very interesting~

Another thing we can see there, "Favorite" and "Group"
According to what they said, v8.5's group is now say to be "categorizes"~
What the use of group in 2009 is an active conversation box, let said i created a group call "exam" then invite my classmate (they have to accept).
While someone come online, it will automatically got into the group-chat!! You know this is so much convenient in discussing stuff O_o

i'm not sure if anyone notice it.. or if is just happening to me..
when i wanted to invite someone to join an existing conversation.. normally i can just drag and drop it to the conversation window.. but i cant do it anymore in wlm9..

I'm not sure is the too many bugs or not. What i like about the Beta version is the Live Mail Beta. We can handle e-mail faster and systematically. I like its graphic too. Everybody hav its own opinion.

Can someone tell me where is the send button ?????

usually, to send messages don't you just press Enter?

Or do you want to send files? If that so, just click the right-most icon, select File and pick Send a single file.

I was fascinated with its GUI, I'd downloaded the installation file of 134MB, but i cant install it, i get this kind of silly mistake:

The public installation have some other softwares to install right?
Just untick all of it except WLM.
Maybe that's where the problem occurs.

If not try clearing ALL traces of the previous WLM you've installed.

I got 1 problem here la. My acer 6920G webcam n microphone is not working wif the messenger la. When i wanna do voice call the thing write a soundcard is not detected and when wan video call it write make sure your webcame is not used by other application.

check your process.

open your webcam without any apps 1st, then locate task manager,
right click the webcam and then click "go to process" . Make sure you recognise the process name.
Then when you open WLM with webcam try looking at the process again.If there's irresponsible process running, end it. Then try again until the problem stops.

Other problems, in the options menu, try to use default soundcard. If that also do not work, then use the external one .

3rd, go to control panel, then click 'speech'
You can test if the mic is working there. If not, then you're WLM might be the problem maker.

I believe so is the WLM cauze when i use 8.5 its working fine until i updated it. My buildin microphone is working n non of the process is using the webcam.

You are using 9.0 public beta?

Im using the later version of beta 9.

Still looks the same with 8.5 but it works fine too.

yes it works for XP.

It's best to do a clean install.
IE, remove all trace of the previous installed WLM.

Send messages.Normally I just click on the emoticon and send with WLM 8.5 but now I can't find any send button.I need to press enter.I wonder why the send feature gone ? so normal and so common button.

i think we can't see it but the person you talking to can see

yaya..that's right..we cant see our own custom emoticon, but the people we chat with can see the emoticon we sent to them

and i found something in WLM9..when i drag a photo into the conversation window, it's not send a single photo..but is share a photo..
if u want to send a single file, u should click 'files' and choose 'send a file or photo'...
i think this should be one of the new features in WLM9

Its damn hard to send many many photos as its share not send.
and i cant find the files or photo tat my frens shared wit me. Search My Document> Sharing Folders but still not there.

I've downloaded it and try on it. It's working fine. Experiencing a better smooth process than trying the Internet Explorer 8.0 Beta (it really bring much problem than this new Beta of MSN).
