what should i do with the reovery drive since i do not need the harddisk anymore. should i create a partition in new harddisk for recovery drive? and how?

yup, dell's warranty is of international support.
what you need to do is to complete the country/region ownership transfer for extending the warranty support to your new country destination.

can be easily done on the dell's webby,
wait for few days then you'll receive an email stating the transfer successful.

the telephone support from dell's aussie hotline will still be redirected back to dell malaysia calls service centre at penang.

I am going to further my study in Australia next week and I just called dell this afternoon, ask them about warranty information. But, they never tell me anything about this country/region ownership transfer, they suggested me to extend my warranty when I reach there. Otherwise, I have to ship my laptop back to Malaysia for warranty claim.

If I complete this country/region ownership transfer, can I claim my warranty in Australia?
