MFM I tick Full Road and POI (default ticked) during installation. Only the speed trap POI in POI folder which exists already since MSM.


MFM = 67MB+
MSM = 37MB+

yea my nokia 5800 XM is 8GB SDHC class 6

So what does 67mb take?

V2.30b was updated sometime in Dec'08..Almost all mapsets remained unchanged/ not updated except Melaka, & Hohor & Singapore 

However Mysgfreemaps (Malfreemaps.com) have been continously updated weekly since V1.0 in Sept..08..now at V1.42 (I.e 42 updates since Sept 08 although certain updates not fully released) 

i've read in some other forum that garmin XT version 5.00.00 is better than 5.00.10 or 5.00.20..
is it true?
they also said that .10 and .20 drains more battery than .00...

Well the fact is MFM is better than MSM. So what are you waiting for? Download MFM now and ditch MSM!

hello all big brothers... im using N82, if i on GPS for about 10 hours inside da car...and ofcos charging with it... my N82 phone can tahan on 10 hours or not?? anybody try it?? becos i need to drive from penang to terrengganu then to johor... 10 hours trip... i dunno my phone can spoilt or not or Overheat ??

Hi all..

I am using nokia N78 with Garmin Mobile XT... Sometimes, it really hard to get the GPS signal, waiting for almost an hour, still couldn't get the signal... I already enable A-GPS but the result is still the same...

Yesterday and today, i drive from sg buloh, selangor to bukit jalil, kl around 9am and reached there around 10am.. along the way, i launch garmin application and it says "Searching for satellites" from the beginning until i reached my destination...

During lunch time, when i'm driving, i launch garmin again but the result still the same, could not get sattelites signal... on my way going back home, around 6pm, the result is still the same until i reach bukit jelutong area (shah alam)...

Starting from that area until i reached my house in sg buloh, its really easy to get and lock the GPS signal... I close garmin, then re launch it several times, yeah, within 20 seconds, it already lock the gps signal... this is happen yesterday and today... never try gps for that area before..

is this situation is normal???  

@aspire - UNL files are NOT part of gmxt. kindly remove from yur 5800 thread. if one needs to use gmxt, one should just purchase the original, whereby the 1gb microsd card will be given together in a box with instructions. the microsd card itself hold the "key" to ONLY the version purchased.
any upgrades for versions require a re-purchase.

actually, the HTC T3G already have the QuickGPS, is that enough?and i've also install the Google Maps..

I've recently installed Garmin in My N78,everything loads and works perfectly except few hiccups.

1) Not able to view detail map like housing estate,shops or companies from map.
2)No able to perform search using address.

Do someone know how to make both issue works in garmin.Please advise

Malfreemaps/malsingmaps are mapping communities offering free to load maps BUT based on Garmin platform Only (Malsingmaps able to provide maps in mapking platform too)

Tom-Tom is another maps platform something similar to Garmin, Mapking, Route66, papago, IGO, Magellan & etc...Too bad there are no mapping communities for Tom-tom in M'sia or Tom-tom is a very protective software that do not allowed personal mapping & availabilities of mapping tools as what Garmin software able to offer & thus no such Tom-tom comunities in Malaysia as malsing/malfreemaps that taken the opportunity of the availability of mapping tools worldwide

stimix - i have GMXT 5.00.20 now on my nokia. should i update to 5.00.40? my 5.00.20 is working fine right now. wonder if i should itchy hands go and update or not? thanks for your advice.
