I was using malsingmaps v4.11 previously. then i went to this website and saw v4.13
http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewtopi...=172168#p172168 downloaded it but the difference is v4.11, 70MB and v4.13, 35MB. why is there such a huge difference? should i just replace with the new one or just paste it in garmin folder? |

never delete the gmapbmap.img
just delete the old gmapsupp and cut the new one into the folder. never keep 2 gmapsupp in a folder, 1 is enough |

QUOTE(Optiplex330 @ Apr 5 2010, 05:54 PM) The GPS co-ordinate are supposed to be within 10 meter accuracy. But from the reading I got with Nokia Maps and Garmin on my Nokia phone and then comparing it with google satellite map, sometime they can be as far off by 40 meters. At other times, they can be dead accurate. Anyone noticing that? So, how to improve accuracy all the time? turn on A-GPS & network based option and u might improve ur accuracy.open ur window for both drivers and passengers side (the tint on ur window affects the accuracy) 40 metres is still acceptable la anyway, quite common |

QUOTE(Optiplex330 @ Apr 6 2010, 11:27 AM) I was using AGPS (but no Network based assistance) and standing away from the car and stationary under clear sky in rural areas with gentle rolling hills (meaning there are no reflective tall building). Yet the reading can sometimes be inaccurate. Checking on Google map of places I am familiar, the reading can be off by 20 - 40 meters instead of the supposedly 10 meters. So either the google map is inaccurate or the GPS reading is. Any idea? maybe ur built-in gps' prob.. no offence.. cause i once bought a n95 8gb and the garmin shows 1 bar only while my bro's shows 4 bars. totally same settings |

QUOTE(Optiplex330 @ Apr 8 2010, 12:28 PM) I don't think it make it better or worst. AGPS only makes it easier to pick up the satellite signal and after that, other factors (not AGPS) affecting accuracy comes into play. Signal reflected from surrounding building etc and others I don't know about. yeah.. please dont simply say AGPS will make the accuracy worse = =but i heard rm0.10 will be charged everytime u use garmin for AGPS? is it true? |

QUOTE(Mr.Wokayyy @ Apr 8 2010, 05:17 PM) Let me feed u 1 more bit of information that you dont know ..... its meant for discussion. why are u using words to address people? if u arent happy u can go flame somewhere else.XTRA is only for windows mobile running on qualcomm chipsets. it is NOT for symbian. X-tra's data is from qualcomm servers. your transmission of AGPS is not to qualcomm servers unlike windows mobile based. your transmission is from your mobile to your serbis provider and off to NAVTEQ Region servers. this is for all nokia phones with gps capabilities. it shows how much tech knowledge u have ....which there is absolutely none. and here u are telling me about the accuracy of agps. lol. wadda bunch of noobs Added on April 8, 2010, 5:18 pm@miks - u can stop feeding them information ..... seriously. get some lulz outta em la. if not noob then come here for what? why are u even here if u know so much stuffs? pro then go sell gps |

QUOTE(laowai @ Apr 22 2010, 02:49 PM) Thanks for feedback. if ur fren took out the sim card, then how can the A-GPS function leh? meaning, how can it charge him if he took out the sim card Just heard from friend that AGPS involves no charges. He proved it by taking out sim card and using phone agps. Same satellite detection time as with sim card in phone. Strange. |
