Somehow I installed the but I can't use it... After it says no GPS device found the program just closes... Any help?

The GPS co-ordinate are supposed to be within 10 meter accuracy. But from the reading I got with Nokia Maps and Garmin on my Nokia phone and then comparing it with google satellite map, sometime they can be as far off by 40 meters. At other times, they can be dead accurate. Anyone noticing that? So, how to improve accuracy all the time?

I was using AGPS (but no Network based assistance) and standing away from the car and stationary under clear sky in rural areas with gentle rolling hills (meaning there are no reflective tall building).  Yet the reading can sometimes be inaccurate. Checking on Google map of places I am familiar, the reading can be off by 20 - 40 meters instead of the supposedly 10 meters. So either the google map is inaccurate or the GPS reading is. Any idea?

AGPS does not improve accuracy. it makes it worse.

I don't think it make it better or worst. AGPS only makes it easier to pick up the satellite signal and after that, other factors (not AGPS) affecting accuracy comes into play. Signal reflected from surrounding building etc and others I don't know about.

Let me feed u 1 more bit of information that you dont know .....

XTRA is only for windows mobile running on qualcomm chipsets.
it is NOT for symbian. X-tra's data is from qualcomm servers.

your transmission of AGPS is not to qualcomm servers unlike windows mobile based. your transmission is from your mobile to your serbis provider and off to NAVTEQ Region servers. this is for all nokia phones with gps capabilities.

it shows how much tech knowledge u have ....which there is absolutely none. and here u are telling me about the accuracy of agps.

Just heard from friend that AGPS involves no charges. He proved it by taking out sim card and using phone agps. Same satellite detection time as with sim card in phone. Strange.

Hi, I don't have garmin yet on my N8, only Ovi. Do I have to go to Lowyat to install garmin or can I just do it on my own by downloading it from somewhere?
I found a link to download garmin at MFM but I'm not sure whether that is to update existing map or the full software.
