OMG..u spent all your money to track via sms & see the plot & also speed
Actualy to track, plot & checking speed and even altitude, you need not use sms. There are few data logging software available such as Nokia sport..., Race chrono & even garmin mxt itself can record. Unless u mean u wanted to trace the location of your car just like those GPS security system Otherwise, it has been ages & track recording is the basic of mapping & also contributed to the detail GPS maps available Today at malfree & also malsing...It has been my weekend hobby as well to record tracklogs, checking my mountain bike riding speed, plotting the data on the maps, checking altitude, and lastly sending any new roads that I encountered during weekend ride to either one of the mapping communities for updating. On your query, u can check those garmin stalls in any digital malls such as Lowyat, S14 Digital mall, IOI Mall digital mall & 19th digital mall at USJ |

Malfreemaps/malsingmaps are mapping communities offering free to load maps BUT based on Garmin platform Only (Malsingmaps able to provide maps in mapking platform too)
Tom-Tom is another maps platform something similar to Garmin, Mapking, Route66, papago, IGO, Magellan & etc...Too bad there are no mapping communities for Tom-tom in M'sia or Tom-tom is a very protective software that do not allowed personal mapping & availabilities of mapping tools as what Garmin software able to offer & thus no such Tom-tom comunities in Malaysia as malsing/malfreemaps that taken the opportunity of the availability of mapping tools worldwide QUOTE(qwe65 @ Mar 27 2009, 10:35 PM) |

Lotsa ppl without unlimited 3G/Edge will be happy to switch off AGPS..why u need it for....probably it's helps to acquire fast satelite fix, otherwise if u willing to wait abit loger, u can get the same signal what...I switch off the AGPS function.
@ChrisWeiYuan, your earlier question on the differences between MFM & MSM is on 1st page, nevertheless, there is a comparison between both maps in MFM here (Although on older versions): QUOTE FREQUENT QUESTIONS 1. Which is better? Malfreemaps (MFM) or Malsingmaps (MSM) map? Answer wrote: Which map is better is up to the user's own opinion. Below are some facts that will help you judge. Comparison is based on MFM v1.45 vs MSM v2.30b. For Perlis, Kedah and Penang, MFM has more details than MSM as MSM is still using old maps from MFM mappers. For Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang, MFM has more details than MSM as MSM is still using old maps from MFM mappers. For Perak, MFM has more details than MSM as MSM is still using old maps from MFM mappers. For Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, MFM has more details than MSM as MSM is still using old maps from MFM mappers. For Negeri Sembilan, MFM has more details than MSM especially at Seremban and vicinity For Melaka, MFM has as much details as MSM in Melaka town. MFM is more up to date but may not have as many POIs. For smaller towns such as Masjid Tanah, MFM has more details. For Johor, MFM has as much details as MSM except in Batu Pahat. MSM has better coverage for Batu Pahat. MFM has more details for Segamat, Kluang, Muar and Ayer Hitam. For Sabah and Sarawak, MFM has less details and coverage than MSM. MFM's focus is on major town centres. For Singapore, MFM has less POIs than MSM. http://malfreemaps.com/viewtopic.php?p=21884#p21884 QUOTE(shahdelee @ May 17 2009, 03:16 PM) |

No point comparing both maps, there are pro & cons...and depending on their member contributions...both maps dependable on contributiuns from respective members. If MFM member din contribute, how u expect Tenji to be in? and on another note, if MSM member din track certain missing roads, u dun expect it to be so complete & detail as in MFM?
So there are pros & cons on both maps...just accept the fact...both are free anyway..no point starting a comparison war.. QUOTE(Alexdino @ Oct 26 2009, 02:06 PM) |

Yeah no kopi-kopi allow both MFM/MFM...just your sincere heart of contributing either both sides or 1... There are many contributors contributing both & there are hardcores contributing to either one too..
Oh yeah to clarify further, copying from other contributor in MSM to MFM is not allow but if u are the original contributor you can contribute the same This post has been edited by stimix: Oct 26 2009, 06:29 PM |
