1) To make your life easy to understand what you get from those GPS navigator on the phone its THE SAME
2) Garmin XT is the software your phone is the hardware if you buy those GPS navigator it comes with both hardware and software bundle 3)Garmin on HP is FREE you only pay for 1KB when a cold start occur . A-gps connect to satellte = NOT FREE = 10sec to 1min gps = FREE = depends 1min to 10mins 4) Dont confuse yourself navigator gps its a standalone unit dedicated only mainly for GPS (the GPS hardware more powerful) and on the phone it comes with everything include gps. |

QUOTE(cucubud @ Mar 7 2009, 04:39 PM) Since they want to make it so difficult for newbies to use Malsingmap, many have chosen to use Malfreemap. That is why Malfreemap is getting more and more popular now. of course . Malfreemap just download and copy into phone.Malsingmap very complicated you need register an account then you need submit 2 POI then u need request an unlock code. Then only you can download then nvm their update very slow. |

QUOTE(tehdynasty @ Mar 15 2009, 09:30 AM) 5800 doesn't comes with a-gps meh? normally phones nowadays come with a-gps in order to shorten the signal locking time... However.. you will being charged for that as it uses GPRS, EDGE or 3G like thdynasty said most phone all comes with A-GPS so does 5800 for more info on 5800 please refer to this threadhttp://forum.lowyat.net/topic/957512 |

check when u turn on a-gps immediately when u run garmin check your phone whether is it connecting via data. If dont have the gprs or 3g logo connecting means got problem with your phone. Maybe GPRS problem maybe?
I am using 5800 XM cold start maybe 15 mins. Warm start 5-7 mins with A-gps = 5 sec |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Mar 20 2009, 11:21 AM) Assume all using authorised (original) Nokia accessories, it should be no problem, except the battery may degrade faster. e.g. The battery may die within 1 year instead of 2 years if you do it frequent, especially when you plug-in and plug-out when you stop, goto toilet break, lunch/dinner, make calls, sms, etc. not really minor. On my 5800 XM it locks to satelitte faster and browsing thru garmin also faster and it dont crashPreviously I used my Nokia phones as GPRS/EDGE/3G modem on my notebook (USB cable) for 10-20 hours daily (overnight download) for 1-2 years. No problem. Always plug in charger, continuous charge. Heat will be warm using GPS, but not as hot as using 3G/HSDPA Data download. Added on March 20, 2009, 11:24 am I tried Nokia Sport from MRR2, then towards Karak. Save the route in N82. Then download into PC. Open up Google Earth. They have a 3D view to replay back the route I drove Added on March 20, 2009, 12:00 pm Just minor enhancement, I will skip this update. Change History Changes made from version 5.00.30 to 5.00.40: * Provide location format selection for coordinates. * Correct picture viewer to show multiple photos in Travel Guide.
