Hi,

today, my car reaches 1000km for first time service. I would like to know, is it same if I go to any service center? or is it better to go to glenmarie service center? I heard their labour charge is higher than others. Since 1000km is free service, why dont waste the chance, right? or is it only same with the other? do they do alignment for 1000km? how much includes oil, etc for 1000km service of gen2 cps?? .. smile.gif ... tq for the info.

better go to proton or eon service centre for warranty purposes..if u want to claim anything..i think they will check ur service booklet first..correct me if i`m wrong.

true... rite now if wanna claim from proton, must always do servis at any proton or eon servis centre... there was a notice at da eon service centre i always go to...

for gen2 cps @1000km is usually not more than 120(semi syn engine oil + filter + some minor things i cant remember)... its also recommended that u also change the gearbox oil... that will be more, total would be 200++

labour for all proton cars (from what i know)
1k km - free
5k km - free
10k km - free

after that, its workshop/outlet dependant but plus minus they should be about the same unless u are really unlucky to go into a chopping board center

Yes you will be charged for the alignment/balancing, RM50+ I did on my last service for 5000km.

My opinion?

DO IT OUTSIDE. Find some third party vendor, 'tyre-shop' guys to do it. Cheaper, faster, far more accurate. More value for your money and time

Yes. For the 1st 1000km must change engine oil. Its because engine internals got conditioned after the break in period, the metal particles will be contained in your engine oil. You wouldnt want these particles to scratch your cylinder wall right for another extra 4000km right? Gear box also the same. But people seldom change gear box oil at the first 1000km. wink.gif

If the car is manual only recommend to change gear oil at 1k km. But usually change at 5k km.. If auto, no need to change it. 20k km only change auto oil.

Hi All,

Preparing for 1st service for Persona baseline Auto. Now still below 500KM.

2nd car, 1st one is P2. Tried many many P2 service centre, branches, outlet, whatever..... not so happy, go back becoz of warranty.

Anyone have good idea about good Proton SC in klang valley and shah alam area?

i have gone thru the this thread, so far i can say most recommendation is on,

1) Goto COE, but which one?
2) Don't go to USJ COE, service sux.....
3) Don't go to Glenmarrie PE, totally sux..... is this the one same row with Perodua show room and other car showrooms?

Anymore?

Sure no problem, i think sometime it is people problem, i went thru 10 over Perodua SC, there are good ones.

And there on 1 that have good people, but forget to fill the Gear Oil to my company Kelisa smile.gif

So good people, but poor service quality..... Can you live with that?

Just trying to avoid the bad ones... especially on the service, all SC charge differently on what to change and what NOT. Mainly, profit maximized..... Car tax in this country already so high..... i think i am going to take bus soon..... smile.gif)

Just go to Proton COE (Center of Excellence), next to KESAS.
This is Proton's main (HQ). Most of the Proton forums & car clubs praise the service levels at here. Warranty claims also easy.

Why want to void your warranty by sending to outside service centers?
You'd be better off buying a 2nd-hand car then.

And for Proton bashers out there, other car brands also give problems lah... Don't simply bash with no proper facts & figures...

Thanks for the advice, i definitely go back to Proton SC, its just the matter of which one. Also, want to avoid over-charge by un-honest SC.

i think COE is the best option. Will call them for appointment and check 1st service what is suppose to change.

if not mistaken, only need to change,

Semi Synthetic Engine Oil - RM99.00
Oil Filter - RM12.22
Oil Plug Gasket - RM3.32
Labour Charges - FREE

Less than RM150....

Thanks for the advice, i definitely go back to Proton SC, its just the matter of which one. Also, want to avoid over-charge by un-honest SC.

i think COE is the best option. Will call them for appointment and check 1st service what is suppose to change.
if not mistaken, only need to change,

Semi Synthetic Engine Oil - RM99.00
Oil Filter - RM12.22
Oil Plug Gasket - RM3.32
Labour Charges - FREE

Less than RM150....

COSE can bring your own engine oil. Can save a bit when buying it outside.

No problem. They didn't ask to sign anything to invalid the warranty.

My friend who owned a workshop which can repair and tune exotic cars facing this issue as well...

There is one Ferrari and Alfa Romeo was inside his workshop that time, one lansi fella who drove his gf's Audi TT came over and ask very loudly, can you check my car ar? do you know how to do it? doh.gif shakehead.gif

That fella kena lansi back and ask him to go fly kite with his puny TT thumbup.gif

Few days returned back to the workshop and speak nicely. His gf's car send to two workshop already but still experiencing engine oil leaking. Main cause? First workshop over-tighten the oil filter plastic holder till got small crack.

Rule of thumb, dont lansi with people and people wont lansi you back biggrin.gif

The oil Pricing for Semi Oil is different now..is RM 105 ~ 109 range if not mistaken if get from SC. Normally 1st service won't exceed RM 130/=

Make sure u say no to those magnatrap stuff and oil addicitive

Magnatrap works okay... It's already proven by online forums and also reputable car magazines / research.
You can DIY if you want, and save costs.

Below link is very interesting and informative. Teaches you a lot about car maintainance.

Definately agree should avoid oil additives & snake oils.
