no, midbass, is 1 way speaker, meaning it can onli produce roughly around 60-5000Hz frequency(mainly mid-bass and vocal sound). Whereas coax can be 2-, 3-, or 4way. Produce more complete range of frequency. for ur situation, it's best to install coax.

if without amplifier, any coax ranged between rm100-150 can d... like sony, kenwood or pioneer. But warn u first, bass might not be strong, but listening to radio and cd should be no problem.

the quality is not bad as i using 6 1/2"

however , since u asking for 4 " speaker, the sound quality produce may not up to your satisfaction even though u using other brands..

allrite.. i look at the interior on the web... this is my advice...

if you using 4" on your dashboard.. the impact of the sound frequency will not direct to your ear... instead it will direct to your leg onli ... this is because your dashboard is curve towards inside..

the sound that produce will be like u use ur pc destop speaker putting on the floor instead of putting on the table which within your ear radius..

so if you really want to get some improvement on sound, is just better to potong one lubang either 6 1/2 " or 6 X 9 " at your front door to get a better sound.. when you wan to sell your car.. just plug in a cheap speaker and sell it to the agent..

this is just my recommendation onli..

I would suggest 6.5" component speaker for front door than bulky big 6x9 on the front door sweat.gif
