Are there folks here who collect stamps and other philately items as a form of investment?

I recently embarked on building up a small but somewhat valuable collection of old Malaya, Straits Settlements and Federated States of Malaya stamps (mostly mint and unmounted) - the prices quoted for some of these from collectors, dealers and via auctions are crazy, many complete sets of some issues start from FOUR figures and above!

I am also building up a China stamp collection focusing on certain commerative issues including the minature sheets whose values tend to exceed the stamps themselves multiple times.

With all due respect, the thread link posted above is mostly made up of casual collectors with a stockbook album or two of stamps which they wish to sell off or trade for nominal fees.

I am looking to share information and ideas with philatelic investors who have valuable collections in their hands (which are auction material).
