lol I might sound like a geek. But I've watched all the Stargate shows.

Starting with the 1994 Stargate Movie.
Then the Stargate SG-1 from Season 1 through till 10.
And also Stargate Atlantis Seasons 1 till 5 (on going).
Two movies this year are quite alright as well Stargate: Continuum and Stargate: The Ark of Truth.

There's a new Stargate in the pipelines as well. But that's not due until next fall.

I only watched the movie. The movie was superb. I like Roland Emmerich's movies.

Kurt Russell and James Spader were relaly good in the movie.

I don't know why the critics rated the show badly.

its official. Season 5 will be Stargate Atlantis' concluding season. The plot will be carried forward the SG-1 style. Multiple made for TV movies.

Replacing Stargate Atlantis will be Stargate Universe - the cast are younger/rawer and the actor/actress' physical appearances will be exploited shamelessly blush.gif blush.gif

the new Stargate Serie is designed to attract more and younger Stargate fans wink.gif

Characters are confirmed - casting not done yet brows.gif brows.gif

Meet the Stargate Universe team!

http://www.gateworld.net/news/2008/09/meet...ersei_tea.shtml

Casting calls have gone out for the third series' main characters, and today the short character break-downs arrived at GateWorld.

Note that while this information doesn't come from our usual source of casting sides, it does come from a source with a proven track record. But until we have more solid confirmation, it should be considered rumor.

As anticipated, the team is led by an older veteran officer, Colonel Everett Young. Young is described as "like the Jack O'Neill of ten years ago, but Young's edges have tended to sharpen over time." The show's producers are looking to cast an established, "name" actor in this role.

The rest of the cast of characters is made up of young men and women, mostly in their early to mid twenties. (Keep in mind that when Stargate SG-1 began in 1997, Michael Shanks was also in his twenties.)

Also, remember that these character names and details are subject to change as the roles are cast. (Did you not ever meet Dr. Benjamin Ingram on Stargate Atlantis? That's because he was changed to Rodney McKay when David Hewlett auditioned.)

Stargate Universe will begin shooting February 4 for a summer 2009 premiere on the SCI FI Channel. Learn more about the new series in GateWorld's Stargate Universe Launch Center, and also visit our friends at SpoilerTV for more on the show!

Colonel Everett Young

40's handsome, capable, former SG team leader. Like the Jack O'Neill of ten years ago, but Young's edges have tended to sharpen over time. He requested permission to serve the remainder of his commission on Earth upon marrying his wife, Hailey, two years ago, but for now he's temporary commander of a secret off world base. The loss of two members of his team several years ago has taught him never to take anything for granted, and be prepared for anything. He stays on top of his team so they stay alive. STAR NAMES ONLY. SERIES REGULAR;

Tamara Jon

20-25, all ethnicities (Asian Preferably). SGC Field medic, Captain grade. Off world experience. Beautiful, tough, smart, capable. Paramedic level training. Able to triage serious injury. Modest background. Dreamed of being a doctor but couldn't afford medical school and the Air Force was her best option. She ends up being the most medically inclined person on the ship but is overwhelmed by the lack of knowledge and experience treating seriously wounded and ill patients. She also lacks the medicine and supplies and has to make do. SERIES REGULAR;

Chloe Carpenter

20ish. Stunning and sexy. Daughter of a U.S. Senator. Silver spoon upbringing and a little spoiled but not stupid either. Politically and socially savvy. Dreams of following in her father's footsteps but for now she's a bit of a party girl in her first year at an Ivy League school. Her father's tragic death and the dire circumstances of being trapped on a spaceship seriously tests her character. SERIES REGULAR;

Eli Hitchcock

20-25. Total slacker. Utter genius. Mathematics, computers, anything he puts his mind to. Acerbic sense of humor. A social outcast. Comes from a broken home. Lacks confidence because his true intelligence has never really been recognized like Matt Damon's character from Good Will Hunting with a little Jack Black thrown in sptv050769. SERIES REGULAR;

Lt. Jared Nash

20-25. Junior S.G.C. team member. Officer material but green and rough around the edges. Every teenage girl's fantasy. Like a college quarterback thrown into his first pro game, he is thrust into the role of leader well before he's ready for the responsibility and must learn to take command, earn respect through action, and manage the diverse personalities on the ship to keep everyone alive. Like Jason Bourne, he is skilled and well-trained however he is mentally unprepared for the urgency of the situation. SERIES REGULAR;

Ron "Psycho" Stasiak

20, all ethnicities. Marine. Big, strong, silent. You want him on your side. You don't want him mad at you. Lacks control over his temper in non combat situations. His past is a mystery but it's clear something dark formed the hard shell around him. Yet, there must also be some moral center because otherwise he'd kill everyone around him. Think Eric Bana's character "Hoot" in Blackhawk Down. SERIES REGULAR.

I'm a fan of Stargate... watch and downloaded both the series and movies.
It's amazing how this story started with Pyramid and Goa'uld... and later develop it to others races like Asgard & Tok'ra then finally Ori and ancient... same thing goes to Atlantis.
Damn... miss O'neil and the gang so much

Quite impress how SG1 command able to hide this off world operation from the world until the end of season 10.
My SG1 favorite season ending shall be the finale from season 7 where O'neil fire up the ancient defense weapon in Antarctica and launched those Droid defeating Anubis... a great victory from human race.

Always like those story related to time travel, alternate reality & parallel universe from Stargate.

I think the reason Stargate Atlantis failed was because of terrible plastic casts.

Rodney macKay - They gave too much attention to this guy really. Sometimes you got the feeling he is the protagonist (main actor) in the series. For someone who is a genius and lacks combat skills, it's ridiculous to have him on dangerous field trip across the galaxy....it does not make much sense to have him around all the time. I really dislike him very much.

Elizabeth Weir - A plastic woman suffering from anorexia nervosa. Gaunt with horrible acting. It took them 3 seasons to realize this and get rid of her.

Teyla - One of the better talented actress but has been relegated to a submissive role. She got herself pregnant in the show - they basically killed that character by doing that

John Sheppard - The only reason he is in the show is for eye-candy purpose but beyond that, nothing spectacular can be said about his acting. Too little time is being given for his character development

I stopped watching stargate Atlantis after season 2 because the story sucked too much

yup, the writers ran out of ideas for atlantis. cant argue with that. they even recycled some SG1 episode for atlantis. pathetic, really.
