Guys... anyone gotten their SwirlyMMS to work on their FW 2.1 device?

I'm using these settings ...

EDGE – APN: net
Username: maxis
Password: wap

SwirlyMMS settings
? MMSC : http://172.16.74.100:10021/mmsc
? Proxy : 202.075.133.049
? Apn : net or unet
? Username : maxis
? Password : wap

Not sure if the above correct or not. I got them after doing a search of this forum.

My SwirlyMMS was working before when I was still under FW1.1.4.

Or it could just be that the latest beta version of SwirlyMMS is just not fully compatible with FW2.1 yet.

Mine's an iPhone 2G, BTW.

Just wanna make sure.

mine is trial version too.i set the settings but never sent a mms.
the weirdo things is, im always receiving mms from maxis.

for EDGE just put unet it will work.username and password just leave it blank.

BUT i told all before and im repeated it again, just login myspace it cost me RM7.

oh btw im on 1.1.4.

fetched a new demo activation license again, they just reset the demo license server. now everything works fine now

maxis user here... MMS working perfectly on my 2.1 iphone 3G.

just put the maxis setting on its APN, GATEway etc, and when the 'm' icon on the top right of the screen turns green, means you have the connection and can send /receive the message without any problem, by the way just put the image capacity to medium only,

try it, at least it works for me,


p/s: if you have activate 3G, use "unet" instead of "net" <--------------correct me if i'm wrong...cheers..

btw when you trying to send mms to then when it failed to send the mms, does the green colour still on of turn greay.?..if turn grey means something problem with setting /or maybe you line,try to check it and good luck.

hello guys..just got my 3g 16g iphone, installed swirlymms, but i cant get it working, tried every possible solution, still the "m" icon stays in grey, but when i switch the sim card over to my 2g iphone..its working perfectly, i've checked every tiny bit of settings, its all good..i even used all the same settings on my iphone 2g on the iphone 3g, still no luck..im starting to get a bit disappointed here..i've been going thru lots n lots of forum / reading to get it work..plz guys / sifuu, need help here

1. Update to the latest version (v1.2.6). Previous version have problem sending MMS. If you can't upgrade coz your using ahem ones then thats your problem.

2. Make sure the settings are correct.

3. Did u activate MMS from your telco provider?

4. Did you fill out the Cellular Data Network in Settings --> General --> Network --> Cellular Data Network?

5. If the 'M' symbol did not turn green then it did not detect an active connection. Did u disable EDGE in bosspref?

6. Do u subscribe to EDGE/3G service? I know this is a lame Q but sometimes this is the culprit.

Since u can send MMS using other phone, that ruled out the problem with your maxis line. So now its the settings.

1. Can u surf using EDGE/3G in your iphone using the sim card (not using wifi)?

2. If u subscribe with 3G then the APN would be unet. APN net is for older sims (not 3G).

3. Can you post the setting in settings --> cellular data network and setting in Swirly for verifications?

1. I can't surf using the iPhone now. Previously I can with the E61i. Maybe it's because I went to Maxis' website to subscribe to 2G? Don't know why GPRS is disabled now...

2. I changed the settings of the APN to unet again.

3. Here's the settings in SwirlyMMS:

MMSC: http://172.16.74.100:10021/mmsc

Proxy: 202.075.133.049

APN: unet

Username: maxis

Password: wap

Image size: Low (also tried medium)

UserAgent: iPhone


On the iPhone,
Settings => General => Network => Cellular Data Network => APN, Username and Password are the same as above.

If you can't surf the net with EDGE/GPRS then SwirlyMMS can't work too.

how about for celcom 3g ...anyone can help ?

This morning the SwirlyMMS worked!! Both send and receive. I also noticed that my Maxis connection strength is maximum, unlike yesterday which goes from 1 bar to No Service every 5 minutes. Thanks for all the help!

Not working, and I got an sms from Celcom stating that the celcom.net.my service will no longer be available. Anyone got this too?

about swirlyMMS..... since this tread is open.... how do u erase the inbox and the outbox.... since i have alot of mms, i wanna erase most of it.. the thing is.... i dont know how.... silly me...

u can have paypal without credit card. Just look for those paypal sellers and they will top up your account.

i've just noticed that swirlymms will cost u, not per mms but ur data size of the mms, when u send/receive mms. damn, this is expensive.

Hi, running on version 2.1 and im facing problem on receiving mms. Dloaded swirley mms last time and its fine but lately, ive been receive mms message from maxis into my inbox, asking me to access it through the net. Any solution? Previously no problem, only now.. Help...

I've updated my iPhone to 2.1 firmware and now my MMS does not work. Even with the GREEN M, I can't send out MMS. I'm on DiGi. Anyone experiencing this?

Well then check your bossprefs app and make sure "EDGE" is turned ON before you attempt what you did before again. It should be the problem.

Try changing the picture size to a smaller one ..
I have that sometimes too when i set to the maximum size .. 2MP

I think the problem is with my firmware 2.2. Just now I reverted back to firmware 2.1 and sent the same message without any problems.

u shud go setting and set it...

im using swirly too. when i first open it, it ask me to choose the best config based on digi connection. i choose the top one and it works well. but im still using the trial version since i figured out the os 3.0 this summer will also have mms capability.

Working perfectly well with DIGI.. I just use the auto config wizard.. That is all

Yes, because like sms, this is a service provided by your service provider/telco. You however won't be charged for receiving but of course will be, for sending.

i edi got the green M sign if i set the APN to unet (maxis). but i got the following error.

failed to send MMS.

Guys, upgrading to the new swirly won't auto delete / overwrite my current MMS'es right.
Just want to be safe before I upgrade.

If you mean upgrading to SwirlyMMS2 then no ... it won't delete your MMSes. All your MMSes both sent and received are kept intact. At least for me ;-).

hmmm, try to update into new current version of swirlymms ( version 1.3.2 ) and there should not be problem then,

SwirlyMMS2 is nice .. darn nice, but need additional $6 from current user for upgrade ..
I'll wait for 3.0 then see if it's working then i'll buy the new version ..

I doubt you'll get SwirlyMMS when OS 3.0 is out. OS 3.0 supports MMS natively. The only problem I have with SwirlyMMS 2.0 (or 1.x to that matter) is that you are never able to play 3gp videos. Doing so will only allow you to hear the audio but no videos.

i think 2g cn use swirlymms rite? correct me if im wrong. got confuse cz sum1 said only for i3g.

1. do i need to go to service centre to do the mms setup?
- i went there just now to setup my iphone. i think the customer service already setup the wap since i cn open safari. but i dunno bout mms. when i ask setting on mms,he said he already did tht. (but im not sure, cz he didnt really know bout iphone, i think.)

2.do i need to subsrice the swirlymms demo?? i try to subcribe but failed.

so how ahh?? dunno what to do.

Looks like the customer service does not know what he's doing and swirlyMMS does not use wap. It uses EDGE.
