8600GT with at least 1gb of RAM should give you around 30-40 fps on med setting... try to play around with your video setting

What is your PC spec? Sometimes bottleneck can be there.

yup... might be a bottlenecking... my HD4850 is bottlenecked by my mobo (thanks to the freaking old mobo w/o PCIe2 interface, hence making my WoW stuck at 60 fps all the time (even at shatt!)

Try to disable the integrated graphics on your mobo, either via BIOS or windows device manager.

kindly ask mods to move this thread to TEch&SUpp. You can get most of your answers there.

Actually, it seriously depends. When it comes to games and graphic cards, the nature of the problem is not easily fixed with a generic solution.

Moving to Tech & Supp, they may not be so familiar with MMO issues as the game behaves differently from a standalone game. So sometimes, ok to ask here. wink.gif

Hi JTKlover,

May I know how low is your FPS? I just made my way back to WoW back in a month ago after I have upgraded my rig and stopped playing WoW for 2 years plus.

Previously, I was using GeForce4 Ti4200 and I would have to set the settings to medium, otherwise it would be very laggy plus low FPS for me, especially in main city Orgrimmar.

However, currently I am using GeForce 9600GT and things are fine to me although I had it set everything to maximum and I'm still able to get about 60 FPS during questing and about 30~40 FPS in main city.

By the way, I had 4GB RAM installed smile.gif

1) There are two ways to do it. When you boot up, you can press a key (for me it was DEL, depends on mobo) to get into BIOS screen. In the device or peripheral setting, there should be option to turn off onboard sound and another option to turn off the intel integrated graphics. Also, you can go into Device Manager of Windows. In XP it is Control Panel -> System -> Hardware. Turn off the device from there.

2) Try turning off dual screen in display properties, means use only one monitor.

3) Read Yue's post. Check what slot is your new card put into.
