Do I have to restore it again first using iTunes? I have iTunes 7.7 installed. Will it work?
Which software should be used? Winpwn version....?? or Ziphone version...?? Pls mention the versions.
I went through the guide to downgrade from 2.0 to 1.1.4 but it is too complicated. Furthermore, I have to uninstall iTunes 7.7 and install iTunes 7.5 which I'm not ready to do.
Is there anyone who can tell me or give me some hints about how to downgrade?
Reasons for downgrading:
No sms forwarding support. I can't seem to find so many applications for 2.0.1 which I installed on 1.1.4 No chinese language support. Very few sources. No user-friendly controls.
I'm done with Firmware 2.0.1. Better stick with 1.1.4 for the time being.
Please help! Thanks a lot!
I may be right in saying that Ziphone version 2.5 can be used to jailbreak and unlock firmware 1.1.4 but what I don't understand is how do I downgrade from firmware 2.0.1 to 1.1..4 first? Jailbreaking and unlocking will only be done after firmware 1.1.4 is restored, right?

can't help on the very basic of question, but to say that 2.0 is lacking of app is somehow misleading for me Which app that u missed? For SMS forwarding for example, u may use irealsms on 2.x. I believe dat there are abundant of wares provided u use both Cydia n AppStore. Do visit davidgary marvelous thread on cydia n u will find many repos there.

no such thing as downgrade.. itunes won't let you do it.. you can only go forward. try 2.1... quite a number of fixes over 2.0.1 but still not perfect

Actually, to perform the downgrade isn't impossible. Simply put your phone into DFU mode will do Phones detected by iTunes 7 in DFU mode will allow you to perform the revert downgrade you seek (2.0 > 1.1.4). At least, it worked well enough for me Good luck.

QUOTE(gengstapo @ Sep 16 2008, 05:57 AM) or spend some time at sleepers.net there is complete tutorial over there g0od luck I followed both guides and got stuck at the point where my iphone restarts in recovery mode only (not normal mode) after restoration to 1.1.4 and I have to kick it out from recovery mode using iLiberty+. That's y i asked this question here. I solved this issue anyhow by upgrading to 2.0.

it's hard to do actually but i overcome the problem due to this step
1- uninstall itunes 2- restore ur computer to previous date before u upgrade to 2.x 3- install itunes 7.5 4- do restore as usual..
if still got problem try to use a different computer.

regarding the Chinese characters, just found in Cydia, support for that particular function just in case downgrading is too much of job In my opinion, you will somehow need to upgrade later. This is becoz most of the developers will keep moving along with Apple new firmwares. So why not you give 2.1 a try? Just my two cents though

QUOTE(d3vilzzzz @ Sep 16 2008, 02:30 PM) aaahh..yes yes re -installation if iTunes ...u hit the nail on its head Can anyone tell me what shall I do after getting error 1015 just after restoring to 1.1.4 using iTunes 7.5??? http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1504I mean what will be Step 10, 11, 12.........?? Step 9 in the above link talks about iphone entering recovery mode and need to be kicked out of it before proceeding. However, Step 1 in this link http://www.hackthatphone.com/114/iphone_il...ty_windows.html (posted as pinned topic) talks about something else. The instructions on iclarified are not clear. I tried them and completely lost it so upgraded back to 2.0 as the iphone started restarting in recovery mode only and everytime it restarted, i have to open iLiberty+ and kick it out of the recovery mode to see the springboard. Tough luck!! Any suggestions??

I did that too and pwnage finished but then the iphone rebooted and entered in recovery mode again (something that I'm not suppose to see according to the guide available on iclarified how to unlock 1.1.4 section). So, even after restore, unlock, pwn processes; everytime i tried to restart iphone, it entered in recovery mode after restart.
