QUOTE(jealee @ Sep 17 2008, 04:15 AM) we will do survey and check out TF2. I can vouch for TF2 for being a large community. However, like most online based games, they lack presence. TF2 is big in singapore and the only flaw is that it uses steam, which is incredibly annoying to set up on LAN.this is what we called electronic sports. you play head to head with you opponents, recognize them, and fear them so that your face comes out in their nightmare. u can play online, but they do dont know you. next morning you wake up, u realize u play for fun. here in pro-gamersarena we want to bring gamers to another level. professionals. complete hall of fame, statistic for each team and individual. footballers are famous because they kick around ball, why cant gamers be known by wiggling a mouse? electronic sports will be the 21st century entertaiment, alongside football. the community we serve is the turning point of a new revolution in e-sports... malaysian "kingsurf" won silver in recent tournament (ESWC), we are not slow... |

QUOTE(king_kong @ Sep 17 2008, 10:26 AM) Beast has a point. i see a lot of clans forming but there are too few tourneys around. but it might be attributed to the difficulty in setting Steam on a LAN. When faced between a chicken and an egg, ill steam the chicken and fry the egg When faced between a chicken and an egg, you should make the call, not others. |

Hey, to the TF2 Community!
If you want your game to be noticed, here are some tips. At the very least, you should identify how they CAN organize your game. A lot of things are missing for TF2, particularly server settings, rules and regulations, guidelines to setting up a LAN game, etc etc. Put yourself in the organizers shoes and perhaps they will listen to you. The easier it is to organize and run, the better your chances that they will eventually think about it. TF2 is a unique and great game, but it lacks tremendous amounts of support. Give them ideas on how your game can be successful as a competitive LAN game, particularly by giving examples on how a TF2 tournament should be run. Clarifying these details brings you a step further toward making this game part of a major gaming event. However, it is still up to the organizers to make the decision, which can usually be influenced by a local popularity and support. |

QUOTE(sHin0bi @ Sep 17 2008, 12:03 PM) anyways whatever la for us TF2ers will just have to wait... for our time.. since the only LANshop with TF2 is Asia Cafe so i've seen but its not updated lol. cant even get into the game hahaha.. I would like to have TF2 played at LAN gigs This can easily be solved by talking with the FTZ management. They're very friendly and open to suggestions. Also, if they're gonna install a game, you need to make sure people actually play there. Its no use adding a game upon someones request only to find out they go there once then play at home.. zzzDota is popular because : 1. Blizzard is well known 2. Warcraft in general has a huge fan base 3. Blizzard has its own internet servers, which make it possible for players to connect and play, where ever they are. This infrastructure has given players flexibility to choose what to play and who to play with over the internet 4. Warcraft is available in any cybercafe. Investing in a war 3 licence is worth more than investing in a TF2 license, why? Warcraft 3 is versatile, having different maps/game modes which players can switch between easily. Maps are also not very large in size and easily distributed. You get bored with Dota, you play some other random map. You get bored with TF2, you play dota or some other random map. 5. dota is a game where it is hard to master, but easy to pick up. So long as you know how to play an RTS, you'd be handling warcraft 3 maps with ease |
