Greetings to all local overclockers. As above, we will be organising a Mini-OC Challenge and Gathering. The main purpose will be promoting tweaking skill among Malaysia OverClockers and get to know each other. This is actually a community-service project.
As coolice and gang has some prize/review sample which are lying around, we thought of organising a mini-oc challenge to giveaway the items rather than selling it in garage. Somehow we feel that it's not ethical. Therefore, if such project is successfuly, we may run it monthly or 2 months once.
So what challenge is it? For this time round only one benchmark which is Super PI 8M at 4GHz CPU clockspeed. The competition rig will be prepared. Participants only need to bring their body and a HDD. Participants will take turn to bench using their own HDD. There won't be any driver issues as Super Pi doesn't require drivers. Therefore participants can pre-tweak their Benching OS for this challenge. Participants are allowed to clock the system to 4GHz using any method. From bios, use setFSB, different ratio/divider, etc. As long as it is 4GHz on CPU-Z. All related tweaking softwares are to be prepared in the Benching HDD that participants are going to bring. Only one software are not allowed, SPiTweaker. There reason is simple, we are promoting tweaking skills from the root level, so we prefer tweaks to be applied manually.
Organisors won't be participating but we will be doing 'something around the corner.' So there's actually 2 program on-going during the Mini-OC Challenge. One will be the Super Pi 8M challenge where participants take turns to OC + tweak. While those who are waiting will joining the Organisors doing 'something around the corner.' After the Mini-OC Challenger, we will be going some where to yamcha. Finally, a Gathering for local OverClockers. Too bad we can only organise it in KL. Sorry for people living far away. But Hyde`fK from Sarawark will be flying in to join us.
Rules and Regulations
1. Contestants will be given 30 minutes time frame for the challenge.
2. In the 30 minutes time frame contestants are to free to either Overclock, Tweak or run Super Pi. You need to do everything in 30 minutes time. So check and balance. Don't waste to much time on OverClocking.
3. Contestants are allowed to summit as many score as possible. Only the best score will be the final score.
4. Raise your hand to summit scores. Organisers will check the validity of the ClockSpeed through CPU-Z
5. Bios setting is all up to contestants. As long as the Clockspeed is 4.0Ghz. Max overMHZage of 9MHz allowed if you could not get the exact clock speed of 4000MHz.
6. Maximum of 1.35vcore, 2.5vdimm, 1.6vNB and 1.35vTT allowed. Organiser already tested the respective voltage for 4.0GHz Super PI 8M run.
7. Bios setting can be saved in the BIOS PROFILE of the Mainboard. Organiser will clear the BIOS PROFILE for the following contestants.
8. If there's OS failure, Organiser will load an Ordinary Windows XP for contestants but time go on as usual.
9. Contestants need to bring their own HDD pre-loaded with OS and all needed software or tweaks. The best is set 2 partition in case OS Crashed. No SPITweaker allowed. Super PI Mod, cPU-Z and Memset is a must.
