Hi guys, I recently got the wii from a friend... for free!!
To cut a long story short, I got it **ahem** last weekend, and it now plays all games "out there"
I've been searching for the operating manuals, but everytime I try downloading from nintendo.com, the download hangs. Does anyone have a good link to share to get the manuals??
I need to know how to sync the remotes, as well as how to connect to the internet... and how to set up the wii channels.
Also, I know that the unit is a US-spec version... hence NTSC. Would it work if I used it in Australia where the default system is PAL?
Thanks!
hi. And welcome to the wii club. I got mine way back in 2007. Anyways, to sync wiimote :
a) open the SD card slot cover on the wii. And then open the wiimote battery cover. You will see a button next to the SD card slot and also a red button at the bottom of the batteries.
b) With the wii switched on, press and hold both buttons (on the wii and wii-mote) for a few seconds. Your wii-mote will light up on the first square and you will hear a "swoosh".
c) Now your wii-mote is snyc to the wii console. Do the same for the rest.
Connect to the internet:
a) Click on the Wii at the bottom of the screen.
b) Go to Options/Edit.
c) Scroll to wireless options. Configure the internet from there. (Note : You must have a wireless hub. The wii doesn't come with an RJ45 cable)
d) Then, go to wii shop channel. Go to Download Wii Channel in wii shop. Download the Opera browser. Note : you must pay for the download. Get Wii Points from Gamers Hideout.
Set up wii channels :
a) See (d) above (Connect to the internet)
Also, an NTSC machine will work in Australia but it WILL NOT PLAY ANY OF THE PAL games. You can only use NTSC games as the Wii is region lock.
