QUOTE(Killerz622 @ Sep 17 2008, 12:23 AM)
i like the rumble sound
*
the rumble sound is actually the clashing of exhaust pulse in the extractor... due to the design of boxer engine, the primary tubes left and right are not equal length when they meet at the centre... due to manufacturer design defect, clashing of exhaust pulse at the connection causes the rumble sound... this reduces engine horsepower as exhaust pulse cannot flow out smooth...

later version has the rumble sound removed as they had figured out the exact measurement for their extractor design so the exhaust pulse wont clash with each other...

good air intake ada apa benefits?
*
cooler air can flow in... reduce engine bay temperature... increase horsepower becoz engine can suck cooler air from outside (if u use open pod air filter)....

but the back pressure noticeable??
how to have back pressure?
when high, mid or low rev?
*
high, mid or low rev also got backpressure.... u are not using active exhaust system like the civic type-r muffler...

backpressure is good for auto tranny or if u prefer good low to mid rpm torque... but when i rev high, u can feel the rpm doesnt really willing to rev... this is because there is restriction at high rpm when large volume of exhaust gas force its way thru the tight s-flow route... why low to mid rpm needs backpressure to have good torque??... this i also not sure.... haha... i didnt study fluid dynamics ler... it has something to do with exhaust pulse and firing order of ur engine lar...

summary:

S-flow : got for environment, good torque at low - mid rev

Straight: not good for environment, and more responsive on top speed

???
*
good for environment as in no noise pollution??.. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

yaya... theoritically can say so... but exhaust system also must depend on the whole setup... different car for different driving style has different setup.... icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(jssim @ Sep 17 2008, 03:53 PM)
but last time i saw a skyline BNR34 cant launch the car nicely in SIC drag race....when the driver launch the car, it seem like jumping left & right...maybe the hp too high & the tyre not grippy gua~~ flex.gif  flex.gif
*
if 2wd, it will spin all its power away at start... but like u said the bnr34 jumps up and down during initial start, its the suspension problem... suspension also plays a part in drag battle... suspension should be stiff enough to prevent the tyres from jumping up and down... it should keep the wheels intact on the ground all the time so the power can be transfered to the road...

i see...
i saw a research in WOC website
on few type of cams like below
1. Stock
2. HKS 272
3. Crane 272/264
4. TOMEI 280 hydraulic lifter
5. TOMEI 280 solid lifter
5. Brian Crower stage 2
6. Brian Crower stage 3
7. GSC S2
8. GSC S3
9. Kelford 272
10. Greddy Easy Cams
11. FP 4R

then higher degree wont give more hp
some lower degree but give high hp
dont tell me all this cams i listed is regrind cams... haha
*
those are billet cams... regrind cams are like pipercams, powerzone, matspeed and so on... rpw mostly are billet cams...

billet is not a brand... its a type of cam.... material wise...
